I've done a satoshi where the paint isnt perfect and, instead of trying to tell the customer it is good enough, I gave him a full refund. I dont regret it for one second. If someone is paying me for a service, they deserve perfection, not a Fuck you. IMO, there is no such thing as a whiny perfectionist...only a customer that wants what he/she pays for.

I agree with all of that. ToD obviously has a serious problem when it comes to customer service and they'll pay for it. It started with not calling him as soon as the damage occurred.

Are you serious? Point is, he shouldn't have to do anything to his truck besides pick it up in the condition it was dropped off in, and drive home.

What an idiot; are you kin to David Kelly?

These morons running this place need to have their asses handed to them. Chris & Phil seemed like they were wanting to everything to make this right---- major fail due to they work for dicks & the op's truck comes out of the bodyshop like it was repaired by the local high school kids in training. It's time to feed TOD a giant shit sandwich by going to the media with your story. Where I live the local tv station has a thing called " 12 on your side" just for stuff like this & I have seen it really work wonders. It would have been impossible for me not to go postal on David Kelly if he talked to me like that after his place created this mess. I hope this being on here spreads like crazy & costs them big time.

Man I hate to say it but may be fixing it through your insurance is your best bet. The lawyer may stick it to them, but it may cost you too. I drive past that damn dealership everyday, I'll be sure to mention to everyone not to take their business there.

Sucks that they scratched your truck, I saw your original posting a bit back. But in all honesty you didn't win any friends at the dealer with the original post. They should have made it right, but that probably put a different spin on the situation.

You did call him a cocky m-fer on this part of the first thread. Which I would guess he was referring.

I'd find a good body shop or a referral get this squared away and put it behind you. Right or wrong defaming TOD on TW isn't going to get this resolved either way. I have been involved in situations like this before, your initial legal consult will cost more than just getting these scratches fixed out of pocket. I am sure TOD can probably afford pretty good counsel as well.

I feel bad for you, I do. The situation might be a little different if TOD hadn't viewed the initial post or it wasn't posted. The web is truly a double edged sword.... unfortunately....

I wasn't trying to win any friends and they already refused to fix it the way it should have been at that point. I just wanted to inform people on how things were going and how they refused to replace the parts.

Unfortunately I made that post after he made that comment to me. I normally don't get so aggravated but the sue me comment pushed me and I didn't cool off before I made the post.

I used a (pro bono) attorney in my situation. The attorney asked me if (he) could get this issue resolved to my satisfaction, without going to court would it be worth his hourly fee. All it took was a certified letter from the attorney, for my issue to be resolved.

^ that's understandable, I've had bad things happen to my tacoma before and i've felt the urge to post an angry thread. However, always step back, evaluate your feelings, post in an objective manner, and do not incriminate or put yourself in a position of disadvantage. The internet is very unpredictable. We feel for you, however, we cannot undo any possible mistakes you have done.

^ I have done the same in the past with a couple of issues. My attorney did send a letter once and that particular issue was resolved within 48 hours. It's amazing what attorney involvement can accomplish.

Just for reference, a clay bar will not remove dirt/dust that has been painted over.

I did not say anything to the dealership. attorney sent out letters to all the depart heads and Chevrolet (corporate).

    1. when talking to dealership be calm. ( people remember details better while calm)

    2. ( IMO) I would not threaten with an attorney. if this is that important to you which it appears to be. find an attorney that will represent you.

    3. If you go back to dealership. I would take a someone along with you

After hearing the attitude's expressed by these guys when you went to pick it up, it's obvious to me that their original intent was to try to fix the truck before you found out and never say a thing. Maybe you'd bring it back a few days later when you noticed the problems, at which point they'd just say, "we didn't do that," and laugh at you as you walked away.

I don't know the best way to get what you want, which is the truck actually fixed. If you can't afford a lawyer, and you don't want to risk getting dropped by your insurance, you might need to just deal w/ the truck as is (almost as good as it was), and then give this guy's idea a shot:

We have something like this around here, too... "Fox 6 on your side." You won't get your truck fixed, necessarily, but you'll bring MORE shit down on their Toyota dealership at a time when they can afford it the least.

People who are in the wrong and talk to customers like that deserve it. Fu** 'em right in the ear.
