Understood. I wish I had a good referral down there for you, but I don't know anyone. :(

As far as Toyota's unwillingness to mediate, they have always been real hands off when it comes to dealers and I'm not sure why. I have heard it stems from wayyyy back when, they were the 'hated' foreigners so they treated the dealers with kid gloves and tried to very 'arms length'. Of course, back then every store was under a privately held distributorship, so that had bearing also.

Fortunately, things are changing, even though it was not apparent in this situation. I suspect as they continue to focus on customer retention numbers they will indeed act more as a mediator. They recognize that they will be better served if they hold themselves accountable to the customer experience.

My vision of what happens next.
TOD calls OP to tell him his truck is out of the body shop, but while pulling it out the employee backed into a post and scratched it. The saga continues.

Then he should demand a brand new paint job on the entire truck. Or better yet, a brand new truck altogether. Because, you know, it'll never be the same as it was before the scratch.

well listen, if they cant match the paint, then yes they should, if your being ridiculous, then your gonna get ridiculous answers, a body shop doens't just paint n spray and send it out, well, not good ones. myu uncles shop matches to the "faded" color, or whatevre the current paint shade is, thats how it works... come on man, that type of remark is gonna get ya no where

I totally agree with this. I have 2 Toyota dealers within 15 minutes of my house & I won't step in either of them due to their arrogance. I bought my truck from a dealer an hour away & did the whole deal on the internet & phone except for signing the paperwork. I told them after the price was agreed on to have everything ready when I got there & after inspection & test drive if I liked it I wanted to sign & leave, which they agreed to. They lyed. The truck was fine, but they tried to sell me a Tundra & all kinds of extras, and continually delayed the deal to extend my time in the dealership. I finally had to get rude & say do you want the money or not, I'm leaving, to get their attention. Toyota has no choice but to create a new way of doing business to save their service side of it & with the problems they are having now new incentives to keep Toyota owners.

Right and still no pics. That has been my point all along.

Ok, I left at page 7 and had no idea this thread would escalate so quickly. As for pics, give me 30min and I will have them up.

The only reason that I have not posted is because I flew out of Dallas into Washington DC Thursday morning(7am flight) and just got back in Dallas at 10pm tonight(AA flight 1421 if you want to check) I can also scan my ticket if I am not to be believed.

As for me only having 20 posts... Take a look on LS1tech.com and cadillacforums.com under the same username. Hell, join one of those forums and ask about me. You will get nothing but positives.

I was pissed off and still am. My truck was repaired and I wanted the parts replaced. What pisses me off even more is that the dealership made the employee pay for the work. There is no reason he should have to pay for this out of his pocket. That's just damn ridiculous!

I pick the truck up tomorrow AM and I will be taking my camera and getting some more pictures.

Like I said, give me 30 min and I will get some pictures up.

good to hear from ya man, there are many skeptics, yes, but also many bullshit artists, thte fact you were traveling, eases my mind about the lack of response on your end. completely understandable. its late bro, dont worry about putting pics tonight if its a bother. a lot of times people say one thing and disappear, and due to the fact you have few posts, its makes people have doubt, def nothing personal, by the amount of posts some of us have, you need to understand we have seen this before and dont "trust" the new user. we got your back no matter what though

I agree. That is unfortunate but that's just how it is. Regardless, the main thing is you need to be made whole again. However, I think the only way you're going to be happy is through legal help because it sure sounds like the dealership doesn't want to do things your way. I choose not to take sides here, just want everyone to come out treated fairly.

Ok, Here are the pictures. They are not the best quality and I probably should have taken them in the sun light but I didn't even think about it when I was taking them. The dents are all along the top where the scratches have the wavy effect. It looked much worse in person than in the pics.

As for this comment, it seems to me like they were trying to cover up the look of the actual damage. This really pisses me off even more because I was not told that anything was done to it when it was at the body shop.

I guess I will have to get used to Toyota Service. I bought my Cadillac CTS-V new in 2004 from Sewell and regardless if it is a Cadillac or Toyota I am paying good money and I expect to be treated very well. Sewell would not have hesitated for a second if I wanted those parts replaced. The CTS-V's have a problem with the buttons flaking on the NAV/Radio unit and these units cost in excess of $1000. They could buy buttons and replace them but I told them that I wanted the whole unit replaced... Did they ever give me any crap? NOT ONCE. And I had it replaced 3 times.

Yeah, it's always worse in person; you can only capture so much with a camera.

I do think they should've called you first before they touched it. At least you wouldn't feel as though they were trying to hide something.

So, where do you go from here?

Can't believe I'm still awake and screwing around in this thread.

And for the record, Had I received what I asked for and deserved in the beginning I would not have posted this thread and if I did post a thread it would be to acknowledge the good service.

Scroll back through my posts on cadillacforums and you will see that I have recommended Sewell because of their very good service.

You can't believe you are screwing around in this thread??? Imagine what I thought when I logged on tonight and there are 14 pages and over 100 more posts from when I left. I was like WTF.

I guess that depends on tomorrow. I will not be satisfied until the parts are replaced, even if they did do a good job on it. And when/if I go to sell the truck I will have to disclose the accident regardless if it is on the carfax or not. Just an all around crappy situation.
