completely agree. when it becomes public news, they will change their tune. this is definitely the fastest way to get them to do right. just look at all the news stories about people with consumer complaints and how they get nowhere until the news media gets involved and exposes them.

i cannot believe they are making the employee pay for it. a dealership of that size has more than enough insurance to pay for these types of accidents.
you have the right to choose who fixes your vehicle and how. i would contact the attorney generals office. thats their job to protect people against these dickheads.
for now, i would get some sort of paperwork stating that they jacked it up and half way fixed it. they should be paying you money to compensate for the future loss from damage.

i will no longer be buying stuff from trdparts4u.com

Careless assholes. Not the Toyota associates' property so they ultimately don't give a shit. You may have to get nasty as I sense they are giving you the brush off in a major way.

Give 'em hell though, I am pissed off for you.

This just gets better and better... Did I ask for anyone to buff the other side of my truck? I have owned 4 black cars and I learned on the 1st one not to let anyone touch any of my cars with a buffer... I will now be looking for swirl marks on the opposite side.

And FYI, That mark on the driver fender flare was not a scratch, it was tar and I informed the body shop manager of this when he asked if I knew I had a scratch on the driver side.

On another note, I see that T.O.D. is kinda trying to make things right but I will not truly be satisfied until I have NEW parts on my truck. Again, everyone at that dealership is held to a higher standard than a normal person, cars are your profession therefore you are held to that higher standard. I would not trust some random person with my car but I DID TRUST T.O.D. Why? Because cars are your profession.

It would have saved so much time and money if those parts were just replaced like I wanted in the beginning. I know that was not up to you but I am sure the people that it was up to are reading this...

I am guessing you drive the red Taco? If so... Nice Truck!

The mention of the mechanic paying for the damage could be a lie to give the dealership a more human element. To take your attention off of the damaged truck and shine a light on the poor mechanic. I wonder how many times he has damaged a vehicle.

Where I work when something like this happens we get a "Corrective Action Request" and they are bad. It means we did something wrong. Anyone can submit a corrective action request. Even outside customers and we have to write a new documented procedure to prove that we corrected the problem and it won't happen again.

If the dealership knows it's tight in the garage maybe they should require two sets of eyes to move a vehicle in and out of the bay.

So I went to pick the truck up today. Just as I figured we found some imperfections. The bedside for the most part looks very very good aside from a spot towards the cab where there was some burn through. I was happy to hear that the fender flare and taillight were replaced however the paint on the fender flare had some imperfections and needs to be redone.

I dealt with Chris and Philip(trdparts4u.com) today and I can tell you that even though they are the parts guys, I do not want to deal with anyone other than them from now on. I had a ding in the tailgate and they even went a little further and touched it up so you can hardly see any flaw at all. I will probably get shit for leaving the truck with them again but after dealing with Chris and Philip I know they want this done correctly, and it doesn't hurt that they are giving me a free ARB locker setup for the rear:eek: j/k.

Well keep after them until it's perfect. Sounds like you found a couple of good folks to deal with there.

Sounds like TOD is using staff with who actually have customer services skills to help diffuse the situation and to save continued negative discussions. There is alot of emotions in these situations that are exhibited by comments here so I won't continue to stoke that fire. I have linked your post under my 'Dallas Area Experiences' thread for people to make their own judgements. Hope it all works out in the end, however that comes.

I appreciate you giving Chris and I the opportunity to get this situation resolved for you.

We may only be "parts guys", but TOD is where we have been for 7 years and we are very proud of the service we provide our customers. We would be happy to help you or any customer with all of your vehicle needs.

When your are ready, I will see what we can do about that ARB Locker. I am sure it will "feel" like it was free.....:D

Tomorrow morning we will get the items we discussed taken care of for you and give you a call when it is finished.

    Talk to you tomorrow....Phil

I would hope that you and chris take note of how many people are having issues with the service department at TOD, seems to me like it should be presented to management and some changes need to be made. Then on the other hand it seems that management at TOD isn't much better .
