Toyota of Greer, SC (Market Adjustment)

In case everyone's list of dealers to avoid is too short....

I inquired about a vehicle at Toyota of Greer (SC).
The salesman was excited to see when I could come in for a test drive.
Told him I lived 125 miles away and would need to get some details before hitting the road.
The truck listed for about $49k.

Tells me all their new toyotas have a market adjustment. This one would be $57k++
He then informed me that the vehicle I was inquiring about would be priced higher than msrp on the used market.
He then asked me if I agreed a new vehicle was worth more than a used one.
Tuned out after that.
Won't be buying it. Nor will I buy there in the future.

I know it's not Friday but might be good for a laugh.

 

I spoke to them about their gray TRD PRO; same thing. I told them I wasn’t interested in paying over MSRP.

 

That was it.
Funny, I looked at the 19 white one in Lex Friday. Guy, said you checked it out too. Small world.

 

He seems like a great guy. He happened to be parked at the hospital where I work. I don’t think he will have any trouble selling his Tacoma.

But I couldn’t turn down the 22 Pro I found for sale at MSRP.

 

Every dealership in Columbia (we have three) charges an ADM on Pros; I’m glad I didn’t have to go far to find a dealership that didn’t charge an ADM.
