If it drove like a BMW with the reliability of a Toyota, that would be the perfect car... After Porsche of course. I wouldn't buy another BMW product again, unless I was going to buy a motorcycle, but never one of their cars. That being said, do we have a list of what all is the same with the BMW and the Supra? I'm assuming it's only frame/chasis and the manufacturing that produces that for both companies. The rest is probably split for each to do their own.

I had a FRS in 2012....it sure does look like a frs....but most 2 door sports cars tend look very similar
it has nearly double the HP of the FRS/86/BRZ...so thats much better
the FRS was/is way toooooo sloooooow

its actually 95% bmw...kinda like the FRS/86 is all subaru underneath
its being built in austria where many of the high end euro luxury cars are made (magna steyr factory)

What kinda power do these make and are they N/A or F/I BMW motors?

I personally think this is going to be a flop. You cant brand a BMW as a Toyota and expect it to be a success

It's a BMW Z coupe just using the Supra name. That's literally all it is.

Agreed. A half-assed effort by Toyota at best

I think the rear end looks like a "busy" Civic type R. Widen the rear end and smooth out the fugly gap between the tail lights and fender. I would spend my money on something else. (Actually I wouldn't. I'm too practical and would spend my money on something other than a showy vehicle.)

I had it for six months
    kept it totally stock
    put 20k miles on it
    & sold it

took it to several tracks (willow springs, buttonwillow, sonoma) & had a blast
but it was slow on the track...Im sure boost would help, but it just needs a bigger motor to start with
    that 2.0l is lame like a civic...needs a 2.5l or a 3.0l to really become 'fast'

I wish they would have styled it paying more homage to the mk4. I saw a render like that on Instagram and it looked fantastic, cross between the actual 2020 and a mk4.

toyota will produce & sell 1500 of the supra's in 2019 in the US
    thats $50k X 1500 units = $75,000,000

wonder how much it cost them to make the 1500 units? & what their profit margin on the venture is?

Either way, if you like how it looks then definitely get it

It's gotten a lot of flack but I'm sure it's still a fun car
