I'm so stupid, I thought that was in 3 weeks, as in next month. Hopefully I can make it, and then that would be my first "real" off road experience! I've never camped before though... Is this a bad place to start?

I mean, I've slept in the woods in the Army, but I'd hardly call that camping. And honestly, I've become addicted to my TV/phone/computer... Drinking can only occupy me so much lol

the trick to camping is to drink enough so the sounds of the woods don’t keep you up.

Looks to be a wet one Saturday. There is no such thing as bad weather! Just shitty gear!

Just part of the little road off Route 9 past exit 22 . Its where you go through the tunnels under the NorthWay and up to that little resevoir . If you follow the road/trail it actually will bring you up to the top of Prospect mountain . I did it years ago with my friend in his built FJ40 . Its REALLY rough , rocky and narrow. You wouldn't want to try it with a stock truck .

Recovery point. Similar to the BPF one. 1/2 inch steel. CNC plasma cut. Maybe more effort than it’s worth. Once I build a bumper it gonna go.
Was in the shop today trying to get this done and on the truck for show and tell tomorrow but alas the bolts won’t arrive until next week.
It was way more of a pain in the ass to bend than anything, ended up snapping the bends after cutting almost all the way through by accident. So relying on the welds for strength now..
Still have to make the passenger side. Those other pieces are “washers” to go inside the frame rail to weld the nuts onto, figured it might help beef up what I see as the weak point. The actual part of the frame the stock recovery hook mounts too.

How appropriate, we will see the Taco-Ria food truck at West Kill tomorrow. Taco-Ria is my new favorite term for what happens to my bank account. reminder the place is BYO chair, BYO tent in the rain.
