SO. I bought a helmet for my mountain bike today because I've been looking to get into riding and the guys working at the place mentioned the taconic-hereford multiple use area not only for biking but for off roading too. Ive heard it mentioned here as well and its only 20 minutes from my house so I figured what the hell ill go check this road out and then get some biking in. Get there and pull up trailforks, see something called "the jeep trail" and thought that must be it. Sure enough its a trail that you're allowed to drive on and goes basically around the perimeter of the park. So I'm driving, easy enough so far, come to a couple puddles and mud puts, how cute I think to myself! Immediately after these puddles is a steep rocky incline, worries me a little but I push on. At this point it seems every successive obstacle could eat the previous ones for breakfast, my short little drive turned into me literally fearing for my trucks well-being the entire time. I basically learned how to spot for myself in the fly at every new obstacle, killed whatever fear of earning pinstripes i was harboring, and got a crash course in real wheeling unexpectedly on a Saturday. I didn't get pictures of everything but I did get some of my prouder moments

Tl;dr: when something is called the freakin' jeep trail, don't be stupid like me and TAKE IT SERIOUSLY LOL

Thinking I may head to VT as well next week. A couple of guys out here with me at Cape Cod are headed there. Says it’s a good trail.

Bah I keep missing all the fun. I work every other weekend and y’all pick the fun stuff when I work lol. I wanna say I’ll come to Bennington but I’m supposed to go to a surprise bday party sat and there will be a lot of alcohol so I probably won’t wake up early enough to drive up lol. May be able to squeeze in Lundy before the party though on sat. I’ve been there before, as well as taconic.
