Same, my wife's birthday is May 26th so memorial day is usually a no go for me but I'm sure we could figure something out

I will send him a text here in a bit and see what the deal is as far as $$ min or max # of people . May have have some pics from last year , normally my wife and I are at the gate helping and venture out every so often. At my place the most we had here were 22 rigs at once, but only a few were long distance road worthy. John's place has tons of open area mild to tough trails. But that can all change if a bunch of rain.

I couldn't do the last week in May straight through Memorial day.....it's my annual Lake Champlain Fishing trip. But this definitely sounds like a great summer weekend trip.

So it would be $50 a day spend night, so you could be there Fri morning and leave mid day Sunday for $100. He Said he is building a pavilion for a meeting house/gathering/bar area for smaller groups. I also planted a seed about a possible larger all toyota northeast event. Let me know what you think about a large event? This year probably out of the equation, but could get in the works for next year. He did say let's do it!

There are no if ands or buts I'm committed to my place , memorial day weekend, 4th July, labor day, Columbus day, weekends. We have are friends over, some jersey jeep club and a couple local clubs if members are around. So just keep that in mind if your looking for some place different to go. The weather is breaking so lets keep this active and nail down a weekend in the next couple weeks if you want to go to my freinds place. Maybe a new thread with link if it gets hot to avoid fluster cuckness.

I think a breather relocate wrenching session as an opening event/Friday night happening would make a lot of sense for a play place like this.

Thanks for offering up your spot @Cryptictoy. I’m really gonna try and make it out, maybe for Memorial Day, or beyond. Also would be Intrested in John’s place for a gathering.
By chance your spot wouldn’t be “Dave’s place”? There is a group, the Gotham City Land Cruisers that does a weekend at a private place upstate called that.
Would a smaller group thing be possible at NYS offroad park this spring/summer?

Dave's is 45 mins south of me down 145, small group at John's shouldn't be a problem as long as no big events, will look and see when they are.

A big meet sounds cool. How much for a rider for the weekend?

I took my family out to Burnt Rossman State forest that weekend to much more of an adventure than i was anticipating.
Walls of snowplowed dead ends and closed roads changed my route to our campsite which in hindsight should have been my sign to go home. The roads had +14” inches of sugary, icy snow in layers. Pulling our camper made it even trickier. On the way in, we slid off the road and into the ditch which turned out to be a running creek under feet of snow. First time having to pull cable with the xterra but got the rig out with a single line pull and traction boards. aired down the tires some more and made it to camp at night.
The 1-3” forecasted for the whole weekend ended up being 6-7” by Saturday morning. Packed up early and left camp with the snow still falling. Hooked up the camper, got stuck again trying to tow out of camp. I had to winch out of camp using every strap I had shackled together and a full winch line to find a tree. Once on the road, We got stuck again on a series of hills climbs and stream wash out crossings. I probably had to do about 7 or 8 full line pulls to get up and out.
At that point I cleared my head and went straight to 7psi on the tires. I was able to crawl out basically at idle and stay on top of the old crust.
It was going well until I came across a couple guys in a tundra who had slid sideways, high-centered on a stump, and were blocking the trail. I had no way to pass them and offered some help. After trying to winch him up the hill at his request, i convinced the driver to let me spin him around 270 degrees and to drive back down the trail. He had open diffs and bald ATs at street pressure. After talking a little we convinced the driver that he couldn’t make it the 500 yards up hill to his cabin. I had enough trouble coming downhill and navigating the stream washouts that my lifted, offroad camper high centered on. After about 30 minutes of hard winching, climbing through feet of snow to find a pulley block angle and re rigging 4 times, I got him pulled back on the trail and turned around 270 degrees. He drove downhill with ease and i followed him out to plowed section of road.
My plan for an easy winter camping family weekend turned into a high stress winch fest. Morale of the story. Be able to self recover and air down your tires to single digits
