toyota paint ?

i have a couple of places that are bad on my paint one at each corner where the toolbox rubbed, and also one at the top corner of the tailgate( dont know how but it was like that when i bought it), does my local toyota dealer sale touch up paint? if not where can i get it to match the paint perfectly

 

Yes, the dealers sell touch up paint. Your color code is on the driver's side door jamb information panel. It'll look something like: 3K4

And yes, there are places online that sell touch up paint and spray paint to color match as well

 

Ordering online or a place like advance auto is much more cost effective than the dealer for touch up paint. Just make sure it's the right code.

You should be able to find a local source that can mix and prep a shaker-can for doing smaller jobs. Same as with the others: get the paint code and take it to the store.

 

Except for us lucky ones with my color, they discontinued ours at dealers for some reason.

 

Yup - Horizon Blue Metallic was only available for two years.

 

Couldn't find my color anywhere (pyrite mica) for a yet to be finished satoshi project... I called Dupli-color and they recommended Automotive Touch up. They were one of only two manufacturers that stocked my color.

 

Pretty sure they have it at my local dealer b/c a friend has the same color truck and did some touch up.

I don't like that some places list my paint as the right code but wrong name. 6Q7 should be imperial jade mica, not dark green pearl. The last place I ordered I got the dark green pearl even though they said 6Q7.

 

I like that color. If you can't get through Automotive, you might want to ask one of the chain automotive store folks if they recommend a local paint supplier. Most can point you towards someone who can mix your exact code and some have the capability to put it into a shaker can for small touch-ups. Some can blend the clearcoat into the mix, but I prefer to spray that separate.

I've never heard of mixing clear coat and paint into one. Seams like it would come out hazy. No?
