Hello! I am new here tonight!!I better contact Brian as well! I feel like such a fool. I just purchased a Taco today and was talked into a Platinum 7 yr, 75,000 miles for $3500!!! I am in Westchester, NY. I called back a few hours later and said I wanted to cancel it. When I saw what others are paying my heart skipped a beat! Not in a good way lol. He said he would raise up the mileage to 100,000 and add a year of maintenance service. He wanted me to think about it over the weekend and I can cancel without penalty on Monday if I wanted to. I was going to call around my area but will contact Brian as well. Thanks for sharing!

We've got almost the exact same prices for extended warranty from Greens Toyota in Lexington Ky on three vehicles. Two Tacomas and a 4Runner. When we traded our 2013 4Runner in for a 2016 4Runner, Toyota mailed us a check for the ~40% of our remaining warranty. We didn't buy the extended warranty for the 2016. When we traded the 2013 in, the salesman looked up our warranty info on the trade in and goes "oh wow! They let you have the warranty at cost." They've always been great to us, we've been doing business with them since we bought our first Toyota from them in 2007. Still got it, 10 years later!

I found all that on the rav4 forums but it was posted many years ago. Don't know how up to date the prices are.

Last warranty we bought was for the 2013 4Runner. The only one we've came out ahead on was my 2007 Tacoma. Came out about $300 ahead. We also have a 2010 Tacoma that has extended warranty remaining...no indications we'll need it though.

I have never bought one, but this 3rd Gen is seriously making me second guess that decision. My 07 was bullet proof. Nothing but oil changes, air filters, tires and brake pads. Even went 4 years (30k miles) without the oil change. Little bit of transmission fluid to loosen up all that sludge and new spark plugs, she ran like a stripped ape.

My 2007 had the drivers side front window motor replaced because it sounded awful (it still worked fine), and the timing cover leak fixed because I was outside of the factory power train warranty for the TSB. I wouldn't have done either of those had they not been covered by my extended warranty. So... technically I came out ahead, but maybe not? Idk, I do pretty much all of my own work, so a warranty is pretty useless for me unless I have a fluke catastrophic failure. It takes a lot of DIY repairs to add up to what the warranty usually costs. Most issues you'll run into are considered wear items and not covered anyways.

Those numbers are way off from what quotes I got. Try doubling them. My local dealer was about the same price.

It would be a great option if I could get those prices that you showed. But apparently he has gone up.

Looks like Brian is not interested in more business. I've sent him two emails over the past couple weeks and never heard back.

    None (yet)
Same. I did email Shannon whose post is now "missing". This was her reply:

So about $1800 all-in. More than I want to spend, but it seems to be the best quote that is still being offered.

My local dealer offered $1400 w/ $100 deductible, but it was some 3rd party warranty. I didn't want that nonsense. I want the warranty straight from Toyota.

I traveled to CO to buy my Tacoma from pedersen. I'll have to hit Brian up about this.
