None of this “nearly” perfect nonsense, and ignore people telling you to get over it. Water under the bridge, but if you do this again, NEVER sign until you’ve thoroughly inspected. My truck was nearly perfect, so I had them replace a few components before I signed. It looks nearly perfect after months of me using it, but I was the one to shift it from perfect to nearly perfect. I felt entitled to that after what I spent. You should too.

    5. I was there 45 minutes after the truck arrived.

the shop guys were on lunch. We sat down and looked at paper work. They came back. Did the PDI only. Didn’t even take it to get gas. And this is the state it was in.

90% of the interior issues were from the factory and assembly line.
The flares? Who knows. The seat cover was assembled like that. That’s the one that really gets me.

no one should buy something new.

purposely. Buy something new and have to have minor repairs to recondition it.

You should get accustomed to those interior scratches, they happen when you look at the plastic for too long.

Again... why did you buy a truck not up to your standards? Serious.

Im not locked into ownership. The sales manager. Toyota brand manager and service manager all went over this before I left. And they only have a part of my money with the rest wired in Tuesday.

they agreed to put those things under warranty. Replace them. Or let me take the parts home and replace them myself ( grew up in body shops. ) painter myself.

    the point is:

do I want to do work on a new truck?

should I be stripping off fender flares and mounting tape. Prepping the surface and paint. Pulling apart interiors or having someone else?

just seems like I bought problems

and no. It’s not acceptable to be a schmuck who doesn’t care about anything or anything and the way things are or are done.

5 years ago you’d never accept a vehicle in this condition as normal. People have lost their minds.

I’m just taken aback by the $52k cost…when did a mid sized truck start demanding full size premium costs?

Geezus dude... why did you buy if you knew the problems? To come here to complain? Did you not inspect?

Ok, someone point out to me what is wrong with the passenger seat. I've looked several times and am not seeing it.

As for the scratches, I'd be pissed too, but any chance they wipe off? None of them look like they are actual scratches, just rubs.

    Pretty poor overall regardless though.

When full size premium prices jumped into the 70-80K range.

52K is bonkers for a 3rd gen though.

I was at my dealer for the leaky 3rd brake light and the lone Tundy they had on the lot was a run of the mill 58k Tundra. Don't remember the trim, but it was not high.

Thank god for bike prices. I’m looking to upgrade and they aren’t much more than what I bought mine for brand new.

Mine was 20k less. Same basic everything. Market has gone crazy though.

    You're right though.

Seriously $80K is a low end premium full size. They now go to $100K. I know. It sucks. But it is real life nowadays.

I just took delivery of a 2022 OR and it’s not like that at all! I would be uspset just having to pay 52,000
for an OR Tacoma. That’s a big mark up for sure.
