I had a 2020 white 4runner and the paint literally bubbled underneath and chipped off all under a month of ownership. White is a beautiful color but ill never get a white one again.

I have 1500kms on my wind chill pearl with no issues yet but I've seen some on here so keeping my fingers crossed. I did do the full 3m package so hoping that helps aswell.

Super White 2020 owner here no paint issues so far.

But more importantly you paid $50k for a Off Road short bed? In cash too?? Why?!

EDIT I guess if you ticked off the most expensive option package (lol), bought a few accessories and add to that taxes and the "market adjustment" it's possible to be close to $50k when it's all said and done.

Most of the Taco options packages aren't worth it - with the sole exception of the LED headlights and foglights.

OP could have gotten an Off Road bucket like mine for way under $38k if he wanted to. Some research probably would have been wise on his part but oh well hindsight and all...

I have to wonder if it is something EPA related to all white paints on all manufacturer's vehicles.

A neighbor down at the end of my street has a fairly new high end Infinity SUV of which the paint is literally littering my yard with sheets of white paint that is coming off his vehicle.

trying to clean the plastic is like trying to clean sandpaper. it's so rough. particularly the plastic on the doors where you rest your arm.

If you park it in a garage and keep it waxed I think you will be ok. If it sits outside all the time do not be surprised if you have issues.

No issues on my 17' super white. Its Canadian, not sure if that has any correlation.

As stated in another thread earlier today, my paint is just fine except a few rock chips.

So far so good on my 19. Haven't seen as many problems in the later years.

There have been several polls man. Latest is 80-20 no problems. Also everyone is going to keep theirs forever they say. If you are, you will realize after 20 years all paint is messed up unless garage kept and no miles.
    You could google it.

Hope this makes some of you feel better. 7 years old, 100k miles. Washed every couple weeks or so, waxed once a year in the fall and sits outside at work 12 hours a day.

    Built in Mexico in 2015

I remember white GM trucks in the 90s had pealing paint.

Also, not long ago I sold a 2009 Civic. I never once waxed the car and its white paint was still pretty good for a $17k car.

Why do you even come here looking for advice? A lot of your posts are very arrogant and you seem to think you know more about buying cars than anyone else here
    ( https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ver-it-is-called.724431/page-74#post-26840393 ).
Obviously you have it all figured out and don't need anyone else's input. Plus it seems like you end up insulting someone every time you start posting.....BTW, what is a "coastie" anyway?
