Toyota RAV4 vs Honda Element

My brother is getting his first car, and i really don't know any pros and cons between the 2. The vehicle isn't my brother's choice.. it's my parents'.
which would be the better vehicle? i need some input guys.

I had a 2004 Rav and it was much better feeling car than the CRV or the Element or Elephant as I call my friends. Hondas just felt cheap and plastic like but the Toyota just felt GOOD. Element is cheaper and can carry more stuff though.

 

Elements are ugly IMHO and the rav4 looks like its built better

 

How could anybody ever consider buying the element? That is by far the ugliest vehicle on the road. It belongs in Japan. Next element I see I'm gonna slash his tires, just because.

haha, yeah elements are ugly. how about MPG?
also, which is more efficient? the V6 or 4cylinder engines for the rav4?

 

i would just go ahead with the V6 if you can get it

 

I had two Rav's and loved both of them. I had the 4 cylinder automatic and got about 18-20 mpg in town driving. I have to go with what everyone else is saying.....the Elements are u-g-l-y!

 

The RAV is a beefier vehicle and I do not think the Elephant is AWD is it?

Both are quality vehicles but if they both cost a dollar ....... my pick is the RAV4 anyday

 

Both are new, my parents have a thing with buying used vehicles. but not me, if it were up to me, my truck would already be supercharged with all the goodies!
My brother is leaning towards the V6 too..

yeah, I'd go for the v6 rav4. I wouldn't want to be driving around in a box.

It's a lot better than the older one... I probalby would still go with the Rav-4 though

 

The biggest difference boils down to what you want to do with the vehicle. If you want a plush people-mover, go with the RAV4. If you want a utilitarian vehicle for hauling stuff without worrying about keeping your carpet clean, etc., go with the Element.

If all you're interested in is performance - go with the V6 RAV4.

If all you're interested in is highway fuel economy - the RAV4 wins ...

 

thanks again guys...i think we might be getting the Rav4 V6 on Wednesday. i'll take pics! and..it sucks that my younger brother will be having a faster vehicle than me. but he it doesn't look better than mine.

 

my brother got the rav4 4cyl. forest sand pearl. with xm radio and ipod ready.

hmm..i dont know about that man, the 4cyl has some nice power to it.
