Maybe a titanium frame.....course the truck would probably have to cost another $20k.

Central New York. We get about 177 inches of snow on average every winter. The salt starts going down from October untill April.

yikes! damn man, that would take some serious maintenance to keep these tacos from rusting.

So if they apply CRC and you pressure wash the undercarriage won't that remove it?what about fluid film as i have never used any of these products. My truck looked as bad as previous pictures if not worse so I derusted my truck with a industrial rust remover spray then primed and rattle canned.i should have went one step further and used the CRC I bought in previous post but never got around to it.shit the way my truck looked it would of been through rust till it was paid off

They'd have to build a titanium frame bigger than the current steel ones....titanium tends to flex vs steel.

Since i started using fluid film, the most i use is a garden hose to clean the frame, and thats done very sparingly. Imo, with a pressure washer, you'll blow it all off in a couple washings.

I think anytime your going to use a pressure washer on your frame your best to apply something along the lines of cosmoline...it drys with a semi-hard waxy surface. The company claims the only way it can be easily removed is with a solvent like mineral spirits, or paint thinner.
All i can say what zeibart applied on my brothers trans-am in the 70's looks like the same stuff i recently cosmolined my truck with, and his trans-ams hasn't a spec of rust anywhere on the car yet, plus its been on the road for a few winter seasons on/off before being stored for the majority of the rest of time.

anyone else take theirs in to dealer for the frame inspection and was told your not covered because they already did at factory? i have spotty rust at the welds all over the frame. so if it was coated it surely wasn’t good enough. think i’ll try another dealer.

That's B.S. I'd call that dealer out to Corporate. I E-mailed Toyota Corp. one time about my local dealer stalling me on the Leaf Spring recall. Naming names got me results pretty quick.

I actually just found out about this recall issue when I made an appointment to have mine serviced. I usually do my own maintenance but, since I bought it from a third-party dealership with 72k on her, I figured I should give Toyota the opportunity to give my truck a full look-over. When I was making the appointment they let me know about the recall, so it turned into an overnight deal. Now I have to ride bitch in my wife's Corolla for a day :annoyed:
