Somehow, no matter the dude, I seem to always be bummed when I see a member get banned. Im glad that isn't the case here.

Only if a leak or other damage is detected. Otherwise, it's a visual inspection & re torque of attach hardware.

yes if it leaks they replace gaskets and fasteners, and hopefully check the fluid level when done. seems like some other trucks outside of those VINS are weeping too, its probably good insurance to have it documented if it gets worse the warranty will fix it.

If only a few others would've gotten a permaban, they're on the notable members page to...

The good news is that after going to the recall site and seeing:

"There are no open Safety Recalls or Service Campaigns for this vehicle"

I can now sleep better knowing my Tacoma is perfect and bug free in every way possible.

I'd guess so but he puts up with a lot of shit from a bunch of people who don't have a clue. He's pretty much a victim because he is already a victim.

228,000? That must be every single 3rd Gen. manufactured to date.It was just a matter of time and we all knew it was coming.Manufacturing Japanese trucks with low skilled $2-$3 an hour labor in a third world country defies all logic and puts profits before quality and customer satisfaction.

So the guys who put my 4.88 gears in says there wasn't a gasket installed it was just a machine fit when he disassembled my 2017 OR. He said he didn't trust in and put in RTV sealant. I don't have a leak, and my truck drives nicely with 33's. Either way I'm SOL on the recall i'm sure.

I'm wondering if the mods are going to put one of the recall threads as a sticky?

Was lurking for about a month and I'm in the process of purchasing a Tacoma, would the best advice be to check the diff before purchase and ask if its been through the recall process or would you advise giving it some time before buying?

At this point, I'd wait until midway through 2018 and have that one checked before buying. The recall notice says Toyota still has to get the parts available. They say by June. I'm thinking a lot longer than that.
