Toyota started to ship the repair kits out last week, not sure if they are in short supply.

I am taking delivery of mine at the end of the month. Any news if the new production models have this issue resolved?

    Me too!
And if it were up to TW drama queens, I'd already be dead (in my head) by now and my truck would be falling apart wheel by wheel, so I've been keeping my fingers crossed.

    Cheers!

I'm happy for you though, congrats! I believe you may be the first one to get their impounded truck formally fixed by the recall protocol.

Took my truck in today for the 15k toyotacare. Rear diff was leaking so they put me in a 4runner loaner (love it so far!). said they are ordering the parts today and should be fixed in a day or so. Wouldn't even look at the CPS recall that I'm on since it's in "G status" with no fix available yet...

So, you're not suing Toyota and threatening to buy a Nissan (or something else)? :)

haha, nope. I'm glad they are fixing what's wrong. Don't have many complaints. Recalls happen with every vehicle. I do like the 4runner though...

Ditto. I've been in a $Runner for almost two weeks now, and while I like the runner I'm really missing my truck. The runner is nice, but being as it's a rental it has rental issues. Three different tire makes, filthy, no floor mats (my boots have made a hole in the carpet already), and it's got both of it's keys on the same security lanyard.

I'm not mad at Toyota, but FUCK ENTERPRISE!!!

    Wait, it's Toyota's fault I'm even in a rental...so

Finally got it back, they did the fluid level inspection and replaced the bolts and gaskets. They also replaced the battery, it was dead when they went to start it up for service. It has been hot here for the past week, around 100 degrees. Probably a good idea to get your battery checked if your truck as been sitting on the dealers lot for any length of time.

Update on my '17 TRD OR.

Took it to the dealer (see photo). Got a call a few hours later and the service person says it is, "bone dry". I said, "umm, nope". Come in and show it to the tech, who says, "Yes, we saw it was seeping..." (the service rep and tech apparently didn't communicate well)

Tech continues, "...but it isn't leaking enough to worry about, or do anything, also you are not on the recall list. We have seen them come in with drips continually coming out. That's when you should worry."

Bottom line, I was told to just not worry and keep an eye on it. Interesting how different the response is...versus truck impounding.

Note: I also have the random specs of oil all over the place on the underside and I don't know why, and haven't seen them before.

I made a post, dozens of pages back at this point, where the same thing happened to me... except when I went in (ready to fight) they put it on the lift it was bone dry. I have pictures of the seepage. It was there. Something was there. But, I couldn't argue with the service tech--I was literally staring at a bone dry/no seeping diff. I showed him the pictures I took on my cell phone, and he shrugged and said "maybe it was just moisture". Like I said, I couldn't argue..maybe it was?

It didn't look like they wiped it off or anything shady. My mind was blown. I might go check it again tonight to see how it looks, but who the hell knows with this thing.

I still howl like a banshee down the highway.

Great! I was told by my Dealer they have a daily regiment. They start the motor and make sure the tires have air in them. If I get mine back with a new battery I know this is bullshit...

As much as I like to hate on service folks telling lies...if they only run the engine for a minute or so, it won't be on long enough to recharge the battery any appreciable amount. So you might still end up with a dead battery, even if they do a daily check.

Me too, arrived today. Fortunately I don't see any seepage or leakage or drips.
