My service advisor wouldn't give me a date.
Enterprise had me in a camry. That thing was a pain in the ass to drive. Took it in for a 6500 mile service and had them "upgrade" me. I'm in a fucking Chevy Equinox now. That thing drives stiff as fuck but at least it's a bit more comfortable and I can fold the back seat down.

I will hug my truck hard when I get it back.

I took delivery of my TRD sport on May 24th... after the recall was announced. Would Toyota have been obligated to address any recall issues before the sale?

My dealer stuck me with a Yaris since it was all they had. Drove it for a week before I said enough is enough. I need my truck for work, I can't carry tools and equipment in a Yaris. So they upgraded me to a Ram 1500 which is much better. As of last week, the service mgr told me that he has 54 trucks waiting for parts and they go in the order received. I may be driving the Ram for awhile.

While it isn't right... at this point in the recall perhaps they are saving him heartache over not having his vehicle and at the same time not overloading the already drained supply system. If it is leaking he can always return to the dealership and work something out.

It's leaking and should be addressed. Mine looks exactly like that and when the
parts are in, I have to get them replaced. Dealer & Tech saw mine, both said yep,
    you need the fix.

Those guys are so full of shit! Did you really buy that crap? Do they check the blinker fluid too?

The service department at Toyota of San Luis Obispo is incapable of telling the truth. I say this and I am a happy customer....I love my truck. But life is too short to subject myself to those clowns. Either fix it myself or down to Toyota of Santa Maria.
Good luck to you. Sorry they got you.

Finally got my recall notice in the mail. I've been avoiding the dealer until "official" notification from Toyota. 3 small weeping spots, see what happens when I call in.

Oh yeah, it's total horseshit. But, I wanted the issue documented -so Toyota knows the ORs are effected as well - and I still need my truck so I didn't want it impounded anyways.

There are no drips on my garage floor, so I agreed it was probably safe for now.

I will definitely bring it back in a few months for a fix. Probably after they generate a new recall for the ORs too.

So I just called to set up my appointment for the recall...

I was informed there are currently 86 other Tacomas in front of me. :(

I'm dropping it off Monday, but with that long of a queue, who knows when I'll see her again. lol

same boat dude. wasn't giving mine up to just sit there and to date I have
    still not received a letter.

I did speak with and show pics via email to the SA and a tech, both said, yep
you need the parts and if you're going to keep it until they come in just keep an
eye on it, which I check daily and the weep spots that were there a month or
so ago when I first looked have not changed one bit.

I'll take it in when parts are in and do my inspection and 15k
checkup at that time as well, most likely Sept/Oct for me.

Took mine in yesterday and it's leaking pretty bad...they gave me the 4runner as a loaner directly from the dealer and said they'd have the parts today and it'd be done. Received a call from the dealer a 5pm yesterday and he said he actually doesn't know when he'll get the parts in and that I'm one of the only ones in the pacific NW ... should know more Monday!

What dealer did you take yours to? I just had mine at Rodland Toyota for the 20k and they said I had no leaks, so I called them on it. Showed the service advisor that the rearend was leaking and same thing with the parts . Don't know when they'll be in. It's silicone to reseal the differential, I was a drive train tech for almost 20 years. Come on toyota

My dealership in West Virginia acted like they didn't even know about that recall either when I did my 10,000 mile maintenance. This was back in early May when they just announced the recall though.

Salesmen barely know dick about the cars they sell in the first place let alone the recalls out there.

I think some of it's ignorance and some of it is intentional.

Just received recall notice today. I have a friend who's a Toyota tech at the local Dealer in my home town. He said he was at a training in El Monte Ca this past week, he went on to say Longo Toyota in El Monte has 150+ Tacos sitting on the lot waiting for recall diff repair. Holy shit that's a bunch of Hertz rentals!!!! Dealer also said parts are ordered for my specific truck but no one knows when they'll arrive...Dealer said hopefully in the next week...

My guess is anyone who has never visited TacomaWorld is probably oblivious to all this.
However, if anyone is registered on the Toyota Corp website, the recall notifications do show up on the home page. For the record, my truck is subject to both recalls, no mail from Toyota.
