Maybe Toyota should start having parts ready before they announce recalls so when it's announced people can actually get shit done instead of what, parking truck for 10 months to wait on parts. (I know, makes sense so it'll never fly)

Or maybe build shit like they used to a coupla few decades ago that didn't require recalls every few months. (I know, way too much to expect at this point)

That would be so nice. Everyone complains when another diff recall thread is started but you can't say this thread is about the diff recall when 75% of the posts aren't about the diff recall.

I happened to have the day off and live two miles from a dealership so I dropped mine off this morning. I'll report back once I hear something.

No way, don't consider a 3rd gen. Just look at all the problem threads.

Either consider a 1st or 2nd gen, or be in for a world of regret.

The media is announcing it's the wheels locking up, not leaky diffs like Toyota stated:

    Breaking News.

Fortunately Toyota has promised to dedicate the over supply of the Yaris for those that need to leave their Tacoma at the dealer for a few days waiting for parts. So at least a equivalent loaner should be available.

That should relieve any anxieties you may have.

There are a lot more issues than a differential leak to be worked out on the 3rd Gen Tacoma. Those people who say their truck has no problems either don't care or are learning to live with them. If your ok with buying a new truck with a lot of issues then buy one...I wouldn't even consider buying a new Tacoma right now.

This seems to make sense. I think there are also some that are not sure if some of the symptoms are problems or not.

    Here we go again!!!

Recalls happen, I would rather they tell us when there is an issue, and not wait. They are offering free rentals for those that they can not repair, it may not be the ride we want, but at least they are fixing the "unsafe" issue.

For the ################### frigging time, when some one has an issue in todays world, they google it, and with TW being a busy place, they end up here and we hear about the issue. How many with out issues don't ever google and end up here?

Drama sells, brings in viewers, the media thrives when folks are in an up roar.

So I don't care or have learned to live with my truck. Pour it on more folks.

My truck isn't on the list and doesn't appear to be leaking - and now I sort of feel left out?

Do I go have them do this recall review or wait until this fails and a new one comes back out. This is my only question.

I've come across about four 3rd gen Tacomas with differential bolts so loose you could loosen them by hand.

Get it done. Then you can't be called negligent- as far as that goes anyway.

Some owners with issue free trucks didn't know they had a leaky rear diff until they looked under their truck and saw it. And an owner claimed their rear diff locked up on the highway and was laughed at by other members saying it didn't happen when he was right all along.

I will, just don't want to rush in. Mine has no signs of leaking but I'll still have it reviewed.
