    Vin doesn't show up on the recall list and the dealer never ran it. I'm assuming they figured it out once Toyota wouldn't reimburse them for the rental cars. Dealer also stated they are footing the bill for the rentals.

    I would personally email this to the CEO. It will be in writing. Give about a week and someone should get back yo you. Include all your contact and vehicle info.

    Just got back from re-upping my loaner contract, and asked them to do the 2 year maintenance while they had the truck. They're actually doing it today, so that's one less thing to worry about if I ever get my truck back. lol

    I was glad to learn it was/is being stored in a parking garage instead of baking in the sun.

    I also had a nice chat with a fellow Tacoma owner as we commiserated about our loaners in the loaner office.

    Just an update, after an entire 30 days, returned the rental and got my truck back. I really feel like they should pay my car payment this month since I never saw the thing. Anyhow, she drives like new all over again, and I got her back just in time to move.

    So why are some people getting their trucks back in 30 days, and others getting their's done when they take it in for routine maintenance, while many of us are still waiting at day 75? The whole thing is just alpha, foxtrot, uniform!

    Description
    The involved vehicles have rear differentials that may leak oil. If the vehicle is continuously operated in this condition, the rear differential could become damaged, which can result in noise and reduced propulsion. In some cases the rear differential could seize, resulting in a loss of control of the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.     Remedy
    The remedy will involve an inspection to determine if a leak is present between the rear differential and the rear axle. If the vehicle has no signs of a leak, all fasteners will be re-tightened. If a leak is identified, the rear differential carrier gasket will be replaced with a new one, and new fasteners will be installed. If rear differential components are damaged, the rear differential carrier assembly will be replaced with a new one. This remedy will be at no cost to customers.

    At the end of March, Toyota also changed the assembly process at its plant “to include a bolt retightening process,” Vanov said, so that new Tacomas will not experience problems.

    avs rain guards,,,tyger auto tubesteps... stealth SR8's.265/70/17,ridge grapplers..shiftsense pro...

    took mine in also for 10,000 mile service,, mine weeping alittle also,, they ordered new gasket, studs,nuts,axle seals,,, seems like all these parts would need to be replaced to have it fixed correctly.... all they replaced on your is the gasket.. hummm

    Are you sure it's a higher torque? They inspected my vehicle (which was not weeping) and retorqued it without replacing studs. So either my existing studs were able to take the higher torque, or it was not changed.
