Yep The Lemon laws were written to make customers feel like they actually had rights, but in truth they merely are simply bogus. There are tons of exceptions, buts, if and whatnot's. The big car companies can keep you in court until you have paid double in expenses. Plus the arbitration agreement most sign at the dealer unknowingly along with all the other paperwork which in most cases voids the whole lemon law.

Toyota only reimburses the dealers for the bottom rate economy car rental. In the very beginning some dealers rented trucks, but after they found out about the eternity of waiting, I would really be surprised if anyone gets a truck or 4 runner anymore.

You guys realize it's 60 days?

Where the free remedy offered is a repair, manufacturers are required to conduct that repair
adequately and within a reasonable amount of time. A failure to conduct a repair adequately within
60 days after the consumer presents the item for repair is evidence of a failure to repair within a
reasonable time. NHTSA may, however, extend the 60-day period where good reason is shown. In
the event a repair is not done adequately within a reasonable amount of time, the manufacturer must
replace the item with an identical or reasonably equivalent item or, for a vehicle, refund its purchase
price less a reasonable amount for depreciation.

Been rolling in a 4Runner since mid-June. Enterprise did admit to a "significant fleet depletion" because of this recall when I renewed my contract last week. I expect that any problems getting acceptable rental replacements is more an issue with Enterprise's supply than Toyota's demand.

Yep,the laws are bought and paid for by auto manufacturers campaign contributions and their Lobbyists.

Tomorrow will be my 30th day of patiently waiting.
I did a little research and I think Ill be by the dealership sometime tomorrow. I dont really want a buyback, or a lemon law thing to apply because it will probably cost me a ton of money in the long run.
I really just want/need my truck back. I love it and miss it.

    http://www.dmv.org/fl-florida/automotive-law/lemon-law.php

    Lemon Law Eligibility in Florida

In order for your car to be considered a lemon, the following must have occurred within 24 months following the date of delivery (the Lemon Law Rights Period):

    • The vehicle defect or condition must "substantially impair the use, value, or safety" of the vehicle.
    • The vehicle must have undergone at least 3 attempts to repair the same issue.
    • The vehicle must have out of service for repair of the defect for 15 days or more.
If the preceding conditions apply, mail a Motor Vehicle Defect Notification (MVDN) form to the manufacturer (not dealer) of your vehicle. The form must be sent by registered or express mail, with return receipt requested. This gives the manufacturer one final opportunity to attempt a repair or at least inspect the vehicle.

If, after 10 days, this final repair attempt or inspection has still not taken place, you are now free to seek arbitration under Florida's lemon law.

That makes sense! When I took back the spare key to enterprise for the Ram, I asked if it had already been rented, he said no, and they had two F150s also. When he drove me to Toyota the day before, he mentioned that there were several cars rented out to Tacoma recall passengers. This reminds me, that even with all the bad luck, I was lucky to get the Ram, or I would have really been hurting big time!

Looks like Florida is a lot more lenient then Colorado.

Lots of people keep threatening to pursue a lemon law remedy to their situation. Anyone put actions behind those threatening words? (queue sound of crickets)

well took my truck in friday for the 10k service.

My truck is not on the "official" recall list (2017 off road)
I do have damp spots on each side of the diff, Took pics of it before I took the truck in to show them in the service dept.

after my oil change and tire rotation they say they just checked the torque on the bolts and called it good.

They also said they have not seen one truck come back that was leaking :S
The damp spots that we refer to as "weeping" dont count as a leak to them. They told me they would not order parts or hold a truck unless it was basically pouring out of the diff.

So I guess at this point i'll just keep an eye out for more leaking and check my diff oil levels every once in a while.

Those spots count as leaks that require parts to 'some' dealers. 2 told me, "yup
you have the leak and need parts". I have a few very minimal weep spots that are
dry as a bone to the touch and have been that way for many months.

The inconsistency among dealers for the same issue is mind-blowing!
