What was the time frame of events like? Did it cost you any money up front?

Sometimes it's not all about you lol. Read this thread. You will see that 90% of the guys who have problems live in the southwest, including SoCal. Sure, that is probably geographically the highest percentage of ownership, but not to those proportions.

I also think that the dealers are pulling a fast one on some of you guys. Remember, the dealer is not Toyota and Toyota can only dictate certain things. Here's why I think this:

Let's say that a dealer has regular repair work that is customer or insurance paid, and they have a full day of that repair work. Now, let's say you have a warranty claim and want it fixed. We all know that Toyota is really skimpy when it comes to estimating time it takes to do a warranty repair. Like really skimpy. So, as a dealer, you have a choice to A) Fix the customer pay repair or B) Fix the warranty repair. I don't know about you guys but I want the money. Sure, I will work in the warranty repair stuff eventually, but my high paying customers get served first.

I'm not sure this goes on at all places but I'm sure it does go on in some places. Toyota pays for the rental, not the dealer, so it's no skin off their nose if it takes a long time.

Again, I don't know but I definitely suspect that some of you are getting the hose, at least partially, from your dealer. It's easy to say "Parts are on back order" when I have a full shop of good paying jobs.

In CA it's 3 times. Most states apply the 3 time statue. Look up your respective states laws. I'd say you have a good case since it's been in 7 different times.

The lawyer I spoke with said it just has to be " attempt" to repair. Doesnt mean they have to repair the gasket or diff 3 different times if that makes sense.

My dealer has admitted that the trucks are piling up on the lot. I think TW is just mainly southwest people as a majority. Its not just about you either.

All these things don't shock me anymore. Go look under your trucks, my welds look like shit. Tons of splatter and rust in the cracks. From shoddy welds, to leaking and howling differentials. I thought I bought a " Toyota"...

The article I read says the factory does most of this by hand, since automation " slows" them down.

Yup, they immediately will clam up and tell you to let them know when the lawyers have battled it out.

Also, getting anything out of a "lemon law" claim is damned near impossible without a lawyer...

Ha ... I thought I was picking it up today. The differential, gasket and new bolts were replaced or atleast that's what the service advisors told me. He's now waiting for a TAC #?? He said they should get a response today or tomorrow on their next move as they still hear humming at 55mph with new differential, gasket, and bolts.

I think you meant TAS. Which means they filed it with corporate and are requesting a regional engineer to come inspect.

How do I light the fire under my case managers ass? She routinely misses deadlines and doesn't return my phone calls.

Should I try that regional number? Contact the CEO email? This is for the differential whine.

IMG_7634.jpg IMG_7635.jpg IMG_7636.jpg IMG_7630.jpg I call the dealer 3-4 times a day. I called regional 2 times a day . I've made 4 stops at the dealer in 9 days . Sent numerous emails to COO ...it got my new differential, gasket, and bolts installed. Now waiting on the tech. I was so excited to drive my truck today. What a let down.
This is physically effecting me . I'm having trouble sleeping and my ulcers are kicking full time. Got migraines from the stress. This sucks!

I just want to go fishing 2-3 days drink some beer and nothing else

A few shots of the old one boxed to be shipped back to Toyota. Teeth looked clean but couldn't see the inner bearings. . Didn't want to piss anyone off since the service advisor working let me take a look. So I didn't completely unwrap it or remove it from the box. So I followed him to the service bay, Put on my safety glasses and inspected my truck and the box of spare parts next to it.

The service advisor I talked to earlier said at 55mph the howl is still there. He called Toyota and said they are waiting for a regional engineer to respond because they have no clue. Day 10 at the dealership and it looks like my truck is hostage for a long spell like the 50-60 day peeps!!

Tried to upload a video I took of a closeup off the gears and the teeth look good. The forum won't let me upload my apple 7 video

Very interesting. You can upload that video to Youtube. Too bad you cant take that for independent testing. Any proper driveline mechanic should be able to point and say " there it is".

I swear we are brothers from another mother!
Again the service advisor was nice enough to let me take a quick glance at the diff. Didn't wanna get the kid in trouble. I told him I just wanna document everything I can. $40k for a truck .. I want it to last!

    Stock for now.
Week 7 update. Talked to customer relations on Monday. She said we got in enough parts to do 2 recalls. One other and yours will be done. Said it should be done Tuesday.

2pm rolls around today. No update. I call customer relations again. She says it’s still in the shop. It will be done today. I call the service guy at 5pm when I get home from my flight and I say. “Sounds like my truck should be done. What’s up?”

Oh I haven’t had any paperwork returned they’re still working on it. It will hopefully be tomorrow morning.

Seriously. What the FUCK?? Someone show me where it takes 2 days in the shop to complete a job? He gave me the bull shit run around excuse “I do the jobs as they come in.”

I’m still fuming and have no idea what I’m going to say once I walk into that dealership tomorrow. Bunch of incompitent ass holes. This is just unreal to me.

I have been putting off going to the dealership since I found out they have been keeping trucks for months. I called them and asked them to call when they have the cps and I hadn't heard anything for weeks but they called today and said they had all the parts in to do both recalls so saturday Im scheduled to have it done. They said if there is any sign of sepage they will be changing the gasket and nuts etc.

Imagine the uproar if we all refused to make payments or paid beyond a deadline... they have the credit system to hold us accountable. We are setup as consumers from the start.

Funny we have to hire a lawyer to get them to actually comply with their own warranty ha. Or go way above the chain of command to get anything done with Toyota. It's like pulling teeth with these assholes...
