Imagine the uproar if we all refused to make payments or paid beyond a deadline... they have the credit system to hold us accountable. We are setup as consumers from the start.

Funny we have to hire a lawyer to get them to actually comply with their own warranty ha. Or go way above the chain of command to get anything done with Toyota. It's like pulling teeth with these assholes...

Or you could wash the differential off, and then take it in for trade, they would inspect it then re-torque and then say recall finished...... Yea pretty shitty, but that is what many dealers are doing to customers that have had weeping differentials.

I found a dent on my Taco after owning it for two weeks, I mentioned it to the dealer and they said

"Well, we're gonna have to get that pulled for ya, lets schedule a time, free of charge. If it looks like it will take half a day, we can try and get you into a loaner"

    Stock for now.
REUNITED AND IT FEEEEELS SO GOOD. Dropped off on 8/8 picked up 9/27. But all that matters is that it's back in the garage. I surely hope nothing like this ever happens again. Or I'm out Toyota! BTW never heard anything back from Lentz or corporate.

For all those that said the howling isn't that bad . Those that choose to ignore it, and to those that said they will wait for Toyota to come up with a fix before bringing it in......
Always good to get it documented

That is what is so extremely frustrating. I owned a Mistu and a VW before this and have never experienced such an issue. I switched to Toyota for reliability and I get slapped in the face with this shit. Beyond disappointing. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping its a fluke.

In fairness, our VW "experiment" that somehow allowed us to buy a second one :facepalm:ended up with a real case manager that actually proxied the bitching and complaining to the dealer for us. Way more engaged than Toyota, which openly states you don't even get a true case manager until way further along in the drama. Ask for one. Tell them you just want to speak with one person. You'll get nowhere. They just keep on closing your "cases" after hanging up. To me that means more like they click save and move on after each time you call into the CEC group. They're not solving shit. They're just an ear to bend for a few minutes.

Toyota really hosed this one up. I'm glad to have my truck back though it sucks to hear this crap still going on.

My neighbor suggested three weeks ago just from taking a ride with me to a baseball game "it sounds like the carrier bearing is bad." This guy can fix anything from a snowblower to a Porsche. He was a mechanic for 20 .yes. He's the guy that you go to when your break line rusts out on the way home from work and he just happens to have newcbrake line hanging on his garage wall. Gives you a car to use and a few hours later he has brand new lines installed, checks your oil and fluids , took it for a test drive and added air to the tires. I know it couldn't be a carrier bearing after they just replaced the rear differential ,gasket, and bolts at my local Toyota dealer.....

Toyota care is joke. My case manager always waits for me to call her. My status is I'm waiting on the engineer to come down to ' inspect' it's been a week or so and nothing gets done.

Meanwhile I just made my first payment.

    I owned a 2015. Prerunner 2 years an 60,000 mile not a problem.

I just called regional office and talked to the same guy. I told him after he made a few calls magic... my new diff install was done. I continue my conversation saying Still makes noise and are awaiting a regional engineer to help. I told him if there's anything he could do to speed it along that would be much appreciated. He said he'd try and make some calls but there's so many issues in the region it takes a while to get each one. I politely as possible said "Ryan , buddy, I would greatly appreciate any help you can give since I feel like my dealership has abandoned me and I need to call 3 times per day to get answers"
I also told him how his helping me get the part installed and released was amazing.... If I need to stroke egos at Toyota so be it. I tried the pissed off routine. That got no where. Let's see what Regional will do

i had my rear diff recall done yesterday when i got my 15k service. i had already looked at it a month or so ago and saw no signs of a leak, yet the service adviser told me they saw a leak and were going to do the recall. fine.. whatever... i got the truck back and didn't have time to look at the diff. today i decided to look at it and they made a mess of things and got rear diff fluid all over the place. i didn't have a visible leak before but now i really can't tell if i do. i assume i don't? i did their survey about the service and said they made a mess for this recall. i can't decide if i'm being petty about them making a mess or if i need to make them clean this up.

So Toyota called and they informed me that it's the rear differentials magnetic plate?? That is making the howling sound. They're trying to close out the case at this time.

What is a magnetic plate??? Sounds like bs to me. I asked them for the documentation stating that.

I just submit the survey from Toyota about my "experience" with the dealer for the recall. That was fun.
