Unfortunately Texas is now screwed. They also added provisions to the lemon law that favors the maker, not the buyer.

Update on my recall experience. I had no visible leak that I saw and neither did the dealer. Retirque and good to go! Also I had them perform the rev 1 TSB for ECU reprogram for shifting and check the trans fluid level which was good and the flash made it noticeably drive and shift much better in certain conditions well worth it! I told them that it delayed and clunked from drive to reverse and also that it would still UPshift as I was tipping in more throttle while excelerating up hills when it shouldn't be.

Sorry for you guys and gals having your trucks held by dealers I would be mega pissed off!!! Making the monthly payment while MY nice new truck sits in their lot or on the hoist while driving a shitty loaner.

Even ISIS probably reading these posts half way around the world and thinking bros we'd better think about changing our combat vehicle of choice

Although if that started to happen Toyota would notice and come up with a fix ASAP

Yeah even so they impound one of those and the customer says he has to get his rocket launcher out first, how long will this take, and the SA says uhhh on second thought I think you're OK to take your truck home

Took my truck in for the recall this am. They torqued the bolts and sent me on my way. Met a semi load of cows on the way home and a cow pissed all over my front end, windshield, and all the way down the driver side of my truck. Was not as bad as back in 1991 when I bought a new Chebby S-10. Had it 3 hours and was following a load of cows. Uncle told me I should back off the semi load of cows. About that time one sh!t all over the front of my new truck. Ah.. life in the Prairie State!!

    I feel like a horse's patoot.

I was wrong. There is no leak on my differential. They put it on the lift and let me look. Whatever I saw--and took photos of--is gone... I guess it was just water? It's bone dry now without any signs of leakage or residue. It really explains why they were like "we dont see anything and there is nothing we can do". I went in expecting to get under the truck to say: "WELL EXPLAIN THAT!" But nada. :anonymous:

Unless they used a jedi mind trick on me, I appear to have made much ado about nothing.

As much as I liked the 4runner, I am glad to be back in my truck. They gave me the latest tranny TSB and it's been pretty solid. I'll give it a few hundred miles before I pass judgement. God knows I shouldn't be making any wild claims at this point.

I had my appointment. They acknowledged that there was a problem, but immediately just re-torqued the bolts. They said they were going to bring it up to Toyota Corporate on Monday and call me back after they had a conversation about what needed to be done with my truck. Said if they said do it as warranty, they would order the parts Monday and schedule the appointment when they came in, if they said anything else he would let me know and proceed depending on their answer.

Looks just like post # 1362. No drips noted on garage floor, etc. Haven't brought the truck to the dealer yet.

Got to trade my Camry loaner for a bare bones SR 4 banger access cab, even bare of fold down seats. Yeah less power but the transmission is smoother, and fine for putzing around. This would be a great choice for a 16 year old new driver.

And still no update or ETA from corporate, as per my SA.

There was an earlier post from someone saying his dealer expects parts to arrive this week but I'm not holding my breath.
