My dealer rents through Hertz not a Toyota loaner, so it leave me without a Toyota to drive. The agreement between Hertz and my local Toyota dealership is provide us with truck we require them. I declined but you may want to ask the dealer to provide you a truck to use. Good luck.

Guess I'm lucky to live in the mid-west where dealers service departments just torque the bolts and send you on your way.

Because if I take my truck now I am actively going against the recommendation of Toyota and am on my own if that results in damage. (I'm also highly suspicious Toyota may give me trouble if I do this now and later come in for recall, "Oh since you drove it we cant perform the recall you need to pay for it") And the service department where I work may not be able to submit it as warranty work with my vehicle being subject of an active safety recall + I've been provided a loaner. Toyota may tell them to pound sand when they submit the bill

Its looking like I am going into a F-150 or alike once enterprise has one come up and just paying the 10 bucks a day extra to be in a truck again should only be for a month so 300 bucks and I dont have to risk some huge headache down the line with my truck

Well after speaking to the SA my taco is coming back to me tomorrow morning... gotta sign some papers but sounded like it was no big deal on their end. He also assured me there would be no issue performing the recall remedy once it is available in June. :D

That would be a horrible deal, and then any scratches or damage of any kind would be on you or your insurance if you decline theirs for an addition $12 a day? lolo!

And btw, they ought to have offered to pay your note instead

Def leery of the being in a rental car for so long thing. And yeah using a rental truck to move blows. Luckily it looks like Ill have my truck in the morning, problem solved for now. I can get back to worrying about what random accessories I need to buy for it, ty TW

Car rentals are a two edge sward as far as I'm concerned, I'll fix mine of any damage at my own time and say when I'm ready, but a rental?? They gonna want it like they gave it to you regardless of whose fault it is.

Hi, I checked my differential today and no leaks so far nor even "moist spots"(if that's said correctly). But as per https://www.toyota.com/recall it's "affected".

What you guys suggest should I wait 'till I get the Recall notification or schedule a check right away?
