I used the weather and just set up the Alexa. I use Alexa for long trips so I can listen to local radio anywhere in the country. What sucks is I have to clear all user data to remove the now defunct apps.

The early days they only worked in the USA and on Verizon, it was awful.

The traffic button used to freeze the head unit and it never came back.

I’m fine with car play and no apps.

At first glance, I thought someone was removing their ape suit...it is near Halloween in my defense.

Vehicle manuf make lousy apps, the charge you to use or keep up to date (like maps)

Give me a good radio, I'm capable of turning a dial.

Give me a good connection for my phone. It has the apps I want and they stay updated for free

I haven't seen a car manufacturer yet that builds these apps into their cars any better than what is native on you phone. They can be gone for all I care. It's bloat and clutter.

Maybe they could spend the time and money on a better sounding and more dynamic speaker system?

    ^^^ YES ^^^
Toyota needs to build cars and put car things in them. Let the phone world worry about apps.

Car manufacturers trying to out app the phone world because your car uses phone technology is like Chevy saying "Well we have cup holders, might as well make a replacement for Coca-Cola!" or Ford, "Hey! Since we have seats in our trucks, I think it's time to make some Ford Toilet Paper and put a dispenser in the dash board so when you get the repair bill and $#!+ yourself it will be right there."
    NO!
    Coke does beverages
    Apple / Android do apps
    Charmin does TP
    And Toyota does TRUCKS.

Quite literally stay in your lane.

I never wanted the Toyota App on my phone. I only use HD Weather and HD Traffic on my head unit and those should continue to work after the App Suite Sunset.

What sucks is, Toyota's radio is by far the worst "modern" radio I've ever used. My 2014 Nissan was WAY more advanced and well thought out than this thing. I keep finding things that were so poorly implemented I have to think that they are patching 20 year old code to keep adding features. The more I use it the more I want to replace it with an aftermarket, regardless of how it sounds. The app removal thing is just the cherry on top. But I do agree, no manufacturer does a good job with apps on the radios.

I agree. The stock taco sound system sucks. I mostly listen to sports talk radio so it isn't much of an issue for me but yeah, it sucks.
