A guy drove into the side of my 2005 Tacoma yesterday in a pretty minor accident. I was going about 10-15mph approaching a red light and he just darted over into me scraping both drivers side doors and front fender.

About 10 minutes after it happened I got a call on my cell from Toyota Roadside assistance asking if everything was OK. So, being that it's a 2005 year model, how the heck did they know something had happened? I'm not aware of any connection to the internet...

Police report? Lots of officers have computers in their cruisers. Could be he typed the vin in on his report and it circled the globe, hit a satellite in space and bounced back to Toyota Roadside. Other than that, I have no idea.
