It's taken 5 month but Toyota has finally made the remedy available for this recall...

    SAFETY RECALL D0L

    Vehicles Affected
    All 2005-2011 Access Cabs

    Condition
The Seat Belt Assemblies for the driver and front passenger are mounted inside the access (rear) doors
of the subject vehicles. On the assemblies, screws holding the Seat Belt Pre-tensioner to the Seat Belt
Retractor can become loose over time and through forceful repeated closing of the access door. If these
screws loosen completely, the Seat Belt Pre-tensioner and Retractor Spring Cover could detach,
increasing the risk of injury to an occupant in the event of a severe crash.

    Toyota's Remedy
In late December, 2013 Toyota will send an owner notification by first class mail to owners of vehicles
    covered by this Safety Recall.

Toyota dealers will perform an inspection of the seat belt assembly and replace the four screws at no
charge to you. If all four screws are found loose during the inspection, the dealer will replace the seatbelt
assembly at no charge to you.

More information can be found in the official remedy notice https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfoPortal/staticcontent/en/techinfo/html/prelogin/docs/cp/d0ltofaq.pdf

    UPDATE
Went into the dealership to have this done... took about 2 hours. Here's what I had replaced:

    QTY PART
    2x__04003-37135 SPRING KIT, SEAT
    2x__04003-37235 SCREW KT, SEAT B

My drivers side belt fell off the access door 3 months after I bought her, I just took a pair of skinny vice grips to tighten the screw back down, guess after they get the paperwork done & mailed out I'll take her in and have them "fix" it & have a few free donuts while waiting.

According to the FAQ you won't have to wait til notice is received in the mail... you can print it up and bring it to the dealer so they can verify you're covered and then fix the seatbelt.

I'll post up the remedy from Toyota's site once released.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
I'll do the same things I've done about all of the other Tacoma recalls...
    Ignore it and drive on.

If Toyota really wants my truck fixed, they can mail me parts and/or instructions so I can fix it myself.

I know I'm covered I got the same info you did on the yoda site. Mines been holding since I tighten it back down, I'll stop in on a day off with the paperwork when it comes since it will remind me. While there I'll BS with my go to parts guy as he always cuts me a 20% discount on parts.

A safety recall or service campaign has been issued for your 2006 Tacoma.

Yeah this is a new Super Toyota dealership. They bought back my '00 PreRunner when the frame rusted out in Dec of '12, treated me really good, they have a breakfast buffet laid out every morning in service for customers waiting. Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Water, Fruit, Donuts, etc...
Really surprised me when I saw it back in Dec. Nice comfy recliners, big screen TV. The works.

DC's have their own issues and recalls.

2001-04– A recall was issued for a possible problem with the Double Cab’s fuel inlet hose connecting the fuel filler pipe to the gas tank. In side-impact testing, a flange at the rear end of the truck deformed and interfered with the fuel inlet. A recall was also issued for a possible defect in the front suspension lower ball joint that could lead to premature failure and separation.

Did the screw on the fixed end of the belt fall off? You'd have to pull the door trim to get at the pretensioner or retractor.

    Just curious...

How would they know that you actually installed the parts fixed it according to their safety requirements?

Would they still be liable if you got hurt due to the self repair?

Why do you ignore them if it's regarding your safety?

Not better in the sense that you are heavier in body and SHORTER in the bed. And if you try to argue that you have a LONG bed, that still doesn't mean that you know how to park it right - since I recall that you saying that you had issues doing that. :p
