Toyota said 1 QT per 500 miles is "normal"

    I agree with this. Ford is likely every bit as good as Toyota and parts are far less expensive. Too bad everything they have looks like it did 20 years ago. (The Mustang rightfully so) I had a Ranger and the problem with it was pre ignition. Never could get rid of that on 87 octane.

    But the 2011's Ranger looks exactly like the 90's ranger All Fords are boxy and drab. The new Explorer is a step in the right direction but not for Lexus money........
