I think VW has this worked out the best on their touareg electric sway bar disconnects. The swaybar is just a normal swaybar but in the middle it's cut in half. Either side has gears on it that lock and unlock, kinda like a diff lock. When it's unlocked the swaybar is free to spin as the suspension cycles. When locked (on-road driving) it's a normal swaybar. The KDSS seems like a good system but too complicated. I do find it odd, however, that the Germans came up with the easier, less complicated way to solve the problem than did the Japanese.

When ya'll are saying your Taco went every where a bunch of JK's did, you really need to describe the JK's.

This is my old rig and I guarantee a stock Taco would follow it anywhere.

I love my Tacoma, and to contribute to the thread: the rubi electro d/c is garbage. I never even had my disco's connected. I don't think it would do anything for the trucks, especially with an IFS setup.

Nice rig. I dont like jeeps, but appreciate the ones that actually see the trails, and dont mall crawl like most of them do.

And When I removed my swaybar on the taco it made a huge difference. It allows each side of the IFS to actually articulate independently.

Disconnect the links, and ride around with them disconnected for a while. If you like it, then take it off. Lots will say that it compromises on road handling..but I haven't had any trouble in the 4-years I have had mine off. And if you dont drive like a retard, you will be fine.

It makes the front end soooo smooth offroad.

Thanks, and exactly. I was just trying to say I either had it on or not at all.

The e d/c is crap. I would take the one off my Tacoma if I needed more articulation.

I agree, I like the ride better with the sway bar off. Makes pulling in my driveway everyday much smoother to.

Cornering without sway bars is more fun anyways, just remove them...:sandwich:
