If you thought the rental Corsica with an AM radio was bad, at least that could pick up North American programming. This has got to be the most useless car radio in North America, as it's not only AM, but it won't pick up radio stations outside of Japan!

 

It also has a tach, and less than 5,300 miles!

A/C could probably be installed without too much effort, and plenty of room to fit a double-DIN head unit under the HVAC vents...

 

Gotta give you credit for all these cool finds. Now start saving to buy one of these weird imports!

I actually found a 1993 HiAce crew cab, a civilian version with A/C, for sale at a JDM importer; I posted a link somewhere on here, but that thing is absolutely badass! I've got to have A/C; I am willing to go without a lot of creature comforts, but A/C is not one of those...

 

I’m with you on that one. A/C is the best.

 

And that goddamn AM radio would have to go; I've noticed that a lot of JDM vehicles, even as new as the 1990s, seem to have an AM radio...

You've never heard of a HiAce?!?! They were sold in the USA as simply the Toyota Van from about 1984 to 1989, but never as a truck; Asians and Europeans got all the cool vehicles, but now we can as well thanks to the 25-year loophole!
