    Like, so many.
See if he'll let you have those bed cleats. You can probably sell them or use them yourself!

Also, my truck has sustained over $4,300 in damage since March 2015, and none of it was my fault! If I can obtain cheap used OEM Toyota parts to stash in case of "emergency", you bet your ass I'm buying them!

I did not realize those were there! Texting him right now; Dealer sells those for $30 apiece so I can't imagine how cheap he'll let me have them for!

Do they pull the parts for you or do they let you do it?

They'd probably pull the parts for me; When my uncle was taking the parts he wanted off of that '69 AMC Rambler last September, they brought it to the front parking lot with a front end loader and he took what he wanted on his own...

Might wanna grab the plastic bed rail trim. Easy to pull and it’s a part that typically gets dinged up on these trucks if you haul a lot.

I've already told the yard owner that's on my list; Took me several minutes to explain to him exactly what part I was referring to though...

    @shakerhood

They seem incredibly reluctant do dig the truck out of its resting place to tear out the interior, so I made an offer of $175 for entire interior if (and only IF) they remove the entire dashboard and center console assembly is removed and included in the sale. I’m thinking $50 for the door and $50 for the hood...?

If you’ll look in the photos, you’ll see that the following items are long gone...

    • Seat
    • Passenger door trim panel
    • HVAC controls

I’d imagine that the carpeting is still there, but for obvious health reasons I don’t want that; One small section of fabric on the armrest of the door panel is doable (as I found out), but the carpet after being exposed to the elements since 2016...?

The factory radio CD player is no longer installed in the dash, but is still in the truck; I found the metal chassis (minus the front part with all the controls) sitting on the floor of the cab...

The amount of rust indicates that, like the rest of the interior, the radio has been sitting in the open since 2016; Being an electronic device, it likely has no chance of ever working again! Not that I’m interested in a factory base model 2nd Gen Tacoma stereo anyway...

If the passenger airbag and side curtain airbags are any good (obviously they haven’t deployed, but they could be rusted or otherwise corroded), then they would be handy to have around if I hit a deer or something and the insurance company wants to total my truck...

I do believe that the front suspension, steering linkage, disc brakes, etc, were all there; Obviously I do not want used brakes that have been residing in the mud exposed to the elements for almost five years, but everything else I just mentioned could be worth saving and hoarding if I need the parts in the future!

why not rent/zborrow/use/get a trailer and just drag the whole thing home...?

It doesn't have a title, my neighborhood HOA frowns on derelict vehicles being kept in one's yard, the cab has major damage on the driver's side, and the frame is likely rotted from the inside out due sitting in the dirt and being exposed to the elements for more than five years...

Trust me, I have been really looking into this; I do have a friend not far from the salvage yard (which itself is about 40 miles from me) who is willing to let me keep the thing on his property for $50-$75 a month, but after talking with the owner of the yard I've determined that the cab isn't worth buying :(

charge up the impact driver and sawzall, get some Rubbermaid totes, XL Ziplocs, some white duct tape, and a sharpie... dismantle it in a long weekend, stuff the parts in the garage and take the leftovers back to the scrap dealer

    poof, gone.

Also, the engine, tranny, drive shaft, rear diff, rear axle, etc, are long gone; They were gone before the yard took possession of it and hauled it to where it currently sits. The inspection stickers indicate that the truck was last inspected in 2014 (expired sometime in 2015), so that tells me it was wrecked sometime in late 2014 or early 2015; If this wasn't some beaten-to-shit fleet truck with over 100K miles on it, I would guess that the thing had somewhere between 40K and 60K miles on it at the time of the wreck. If it had the complete drivetrain and he could give me a minimum of a bill of sale, I'd pay $500 for the whole thing and keep it at the friend's property I mentioned...

Sadly, I don't have a Sawzall, and all of the parts I want with the exception of the cab are easy to remove the right way (without cutting shit that wasn't meant to be cut) :D

One thing I'd really to do is power up the gauge cluster and see how many miles the poor truck had on it before its untimely death...
