Pretty neat.

 

For the price tag yeah, they're not awful though plenty of potential. Interior is a disaster though and very cramped, rather just have a bmw M340i. But my lightly modified 10 year old 135i was much faster and dynod better than a brand new tuned supra haha and it cost 50k less

 

I have a feeling I'm gonna see a lot of newer JDM vehicles in America thanks to the 25-year exemption! I've been actively "stalking" Toyotas since about 2016, and it's only since after COVID that the newer JDM Toyotas have started appearing at shows.

 

One day I was out in my driveway one of those miniature Japanese Pickup Trucklet things drove by.

 

Daihatsu Hijet? Subaru Sambar?

 

I am not 100 percent sure, have only seen them online before so I was shocked as one passed by.

 

Thinking it was one of these, it was white too.

 

As far as 1st Gen RAV4s go, this 1997 model is kind of a shitbox, but seeing a RAV4 older than 2006 in the Northeast is not very common; As such, my standards when I find one are much lower than when I find certain newer Toyota models...

That's a Hijet; They were not legal here due to their obviously inability to pass government crash-testing, but now that examples 25 years and older are exempt, and getting them to pass emissions in states that require it is relatively easy from what I've been told...

 

You mentioning that you were expecting to see some JDM stuff is actually what triggered the memory of that trucklet driving by.

 

If you painted it pink it would sort of resemble Homer's car too, lol.

 

And chopped the back half of the roof off; Marge drove a station wagon, though...
