With the Coronavirus pandemic, getting pictures of Toyota vehicles at the same rate I was last year will not be easy; So, I am going to be adding photos of fine examples that I find on the internet at random intervals...

Why didn't Toyota think to sell a crew cab pickup in the USA until the 2001 model year?!?!

Here are a few of mine. I personally prefer my 1st Gen Tacoma but the 100 does have some things I like better. It's frame and bed are definitely heavier and meant to handle more of a load. I just had to rebuild my bed supports on the Tacoma because they were collapsing.

The extra width is nice having more interior space. I despise the auto that is in it. I think I would like it better with a manual. 360k on the clock. As far I can tell it's all original.

Nice truck! Is that 3.4L or the 3.0L? Are the frames less likely to rust, too?

    1997 3.4.

It seems to be fending off rust better than my 5 year old Tacoma frame. It still looks to be in great shape.

Yep. Defrost doesn't work the best. I'll need to roll the window down on really cold mornings. I've just started to go through and replace bushings and shocks. I'm slowly making it a bit nicer. It was side swiped by a previous owner so the passenger side is pretty ugly.

They are much more common in the west. I don't recall ever seeing many when I lived in PA but I'll see a few here in a weeks time with a quarter of the population.

I found out this past week that the rear suspension uses close to a 10" shock from the factory where as the Tacoma is 7" I think. I'm not a big fan of the torsion bar suspension up front. I feel the Tacoma rides a bit better and articulates better. I'd love to convert it to coilovers some day and twin turbo it since there's so much room in the engine bay but that's probably all just dreams.

Don't feel bad; My defog/defrost doesn't work too good either, and my Taco is 13 years newer than you T100!

Does Idaho require annual safety inspections or emissions testing?

Not where I live. I do have a p0420 code on it that I just haven't taken the time to figure out. I think it's an exhaust leak somewhere.

You own anything else besides the '04 Taco and the '97 T-100?

Nope. Wouldn't mind something more efficient for commuting but haven't found anything yet. Hoping an alltrac of some sort will pop up at a reasonable price but that'll likely end up being another project car.

My coworker has a 4wd Tercel. Those things are pretty neat.
