And it's a 5-speed with A/C, and from what I could tell it has stereo with a 12" sub!

Unfortunately, it has a trait that followed Toyota pickups up to 2019, and that's the lack of intermittent windshield wipers...

Any idea what year this truck is? I know it's 1978-1983, but I don't know the specific year and it has a temp tag so I can't run the plate through Carfax...

No idea.
I didn't get into Toyota trucks until I bought my 1st one. A 1996 Tacoma.
Anything Pre-Tacoma, and It's a guess for me.

 

82 or 83, 81 was the only round headlight 4wd but this is square so much be 82-83

 

I love the Hiluxs with the tie downs on the bed.

We're trying to find Amanda a car, and this truck is no bueno because it does not have A/C; Amanda isn't picky, and is even willing to settle for a stick shift if the price is right, but she's gotta have A/C!

Neithe rig them appeared to be rust buckets! Unfortunately in your state, anything newer than 1975 has to pass smog; California really takes the fun out of the classic car hobby!

 

I resent that “your state” implication! I don’t think CA will ever truly be home.

I was born there in 1989, lived there until 1990, moved back in 1996, and lived there until 1998; I have family there and while I love the car culture, I feel like a foreigner when I ever I visit for numerous reasons...
