    Cool spottings! According to the wikipedia, '78 was the last year for that 2nd gen. Always loved the front end on those. Same 20R that I have in my '77 Celica with a whopping ~115 HP! I was on the 1stgencelica forum for a bit, but it doesn't see much traffic anymore. The CA folks always had the early '70's Celicas due to the smog requirements. I initially tried to put mine to stock form, which required 20 feet of vacuum tubing, and it would always run rich. I wasn't going to troubleshoot that mess, I don't and will never live in CA, so I ditched the stock carb and got a Weber (the genuine kind, not the knock-off).

    slowly erasing past owner hacks
    I remember not liking those when they came out. Seemed long and skinny next to all the F250's of the time. It'd be cool if some one made it a 4 door.

    1993 Pickup; I spotted this fairly well-equipped (for base model) Toyota pickup parked outside a garage near Amanda’s house. The body is largely rust-free from what I can tell, but the back bumper is rusted completely through and there is a decent bit of damage to the right front. However, I have heard of similar trucks that look worse than this getting completely restored. This is truck is well-equipped in my opinion because it not only has A/C (which was fairly common even on the base models), but it has an automatic transmission and intermittent wipers. It also has aftermarket cruise control. The lower half of the dashboard was taken apart, and the truck as a whole seemed to be in a state of disassembly, so I’m guessing that someone plans to restore it; Jersey did away with safety inspections in 2010 and no longer requires vehicles older than 1996 to get an emissions test, which is why this potential diamond in the rough has no inspection stickers. This something that Taco Critter would have loved!
