thanks for your response !! actually when I tried this 2007 TRD 6 speeds, the first thing I noticed was the chirping. the second was the huge rattling from the u-joints at the driveshaft, I thought I was driving a tractor. two of the UJ were completely busted. after reading all these comments, I start to wonder if it is worth to get involved with 6 speeds, when we don't get benefits of a better MPG. maybe the automatic would be better. I am not planning to tow anything, so auto transmission should be fine, especially that I will driving mainly on the highway. after all, I am not getting a fair price at $12.5 . KBB says $9,5K
and I am having seconds thoughts about 6 speeds..... and btw the chassis on this truck shows evidence that it did hit salt :annoyed:

thanks again guys, after reading all the comments so far, probably the 2007 6 speeds manual wasn't the best transmission in 4liter engine, so.....which year had the best manual transmission so far on the Tacomas? maybe I should start to hunt for a different year I guess. when you buy any truck with 100K miles on it, it's always risky especially when the vehicle already changed three owners
I would like to add one more note.... a friend told me , why get a Tacoma, get the Dodge 1500 ram with 3,7 automatic 8 speeds. well, I went to the dealership, I tried one and it's too big and bulky , not so sporty looking like the Tacomas. the Tacos are definitely good looking trucks !!!!!
