Ok so I have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma trd offroad 4X4 with fox 2.5 coil overs with remote reservoirs. I went offroading with it pretty hard and messed up my alignment, blew my front left shock. That is not why it would be dipping down on the front left but is what I could tell was wrong. It is about 2-3 inches lower on the front left than the right. What could be wrong with my truck? I was thinking maybe the bushings are squashed or my body mounts maybe but I'm not sure.

2-3 inches lower! whoa. Did you break off the bottom of the shock? Did you break the coil spring itself?

    Pictures would help a lot.

Take a good look at the spring and all of the shock connection points.

Visually inspect the coilover for broken spring and anything else bent/broken.

Blown shock contributes a bit to the height loss - the shock shaft is about 0.6 sq. in., so 300 psi nitrogen is worth 180 lb. That divided by motion ratio ~1.6 = ~110 lb weight carrying capacity lost at that wheel.

hmmmm.... that seems suspicious. By that logic, the shock would carry a 400lb load without a spring. I can compress the shock with my hands. The nitrogen charge is not acting on the piston and the piston is not sealing one area of the shock from another, it's designed to allow oil to flow through and/or around it in a metered way. The nitrogen just pressurizes the oil to reduce foaming/aeration, allow for expansion and increases response. Both sides of the piston are under the same pressure, in theory.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
I am going to say that you need it on a hoist and inspect it. You broke a coil, bent a UCA or LCA, or something else equally expensive and bad.

So i thought the shock might affect a little height loss but not that much. I inspected the sping, the UCA LCA and they all seem fine. i am having the shock rebuilt and inspected but i really don't think that will fix it. I did not go airborne..... at least not all four wheels at the same time.

Spindles can bend at the top...if you smacked it hard enough to blow a shock, I'd give them a close inspect as well.

Seconded. I'll bet that bish is bent already if the shock blew.

Two most common problems to looks for :

    1. Bent lower rod end on your coil over :

    upload_2021-11-29_10-37-14.jpg

    2. A bent spindle, if you have a bent spindle bad enough to affect a 2-3" height difference you would be able to see your tire actually leaning in like this :

In a regular coilover, the nitrogen compensates for the volume displaced by the shock shaft, so a rough calculation would be to use shaft dia. (7/8" for Fox 2.5) instead of piston dia. I have revised my post  Of course if the resi dividing piston is much larger or smaller than the main piston, then the calculations would need to be adjusted further.

i will send picks tomorrow but the shock looks fine on the outside just has a bouncy rebound and the tire looks straight not that tilted at all. some grease leaking from the uppers witch is wierd but doesn't look bent

There’s all the pics I have of the components. Shock is getting rebuilt so once I get that I’ll put it together and send a pic of the lean if it’s not fixed. Which it probably won’t be! It’s a pretty substantial lean
