Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
Steering doesn't just lock up. Almost guaranteed they were doing stupid shit and wrecked. Hope they are ok and learned their lesson.

I posted this in the longtravel thread awhile back. When I was first there on the way in the kids were there... young girls/guys about 17-19 (no injuries visible). I live 3 minutes from here, kids are always coming down here and getting way too crazy on the gravel trying to be TT drivers in their stock trucks. You could tell the kid got sideways, hit the built up berm and flopped. [IMG]

People who drive like that in parking lots scare me to death, I see them every day.

It was said earlier that the truck was an auto, which means the steering wheel lock can't engage unless the truck is in PARK. The flares and liners appear to be intact on the truck. Both pictures show a nice sweep behind them, which would probably be pretty good for drifting around. He probably drifted around it in 2wd, started to oversteer, turned the wheel the opposite direction and nothing happened hence the "steering locked up". Sounds to me like someone needs to watch cars before they get their truck back

That section of road is too straight to drift around. I've ran this road hundreds of times.

And I'm not saying the steering lock was engaged, I mean something was preventing him from being able to turn the wheel. Possibly something inside the fender.

I'm just not too quick to assume the kid was being a dumbass and he gets what he deserves.

When you are 18ish you can "drift" and flip your truck anywhere. Especially when you are trying to show off for the opposite sex @ that age. That's my take after seeing the people who were in the truck.

driver error 100%.. many possibilities, "the steering locked up" is either a lie or ignorance... abs can do that, or simply too much rotational momentum in the drift... and u dont need a turn to whip the tail out a bit for fun. shooot they were probably drinking lol

plus power steering should be able to crush plastic fender flares with ease...
