We're talking about a stock truck. How about comparing stock to stock?

    Exactly!

FERD BOY? im 25 now, I have had 30+ vehicles since I turned 16...never once have I owned a ford.

The thing is though, I really dont have brand loyalty...if there is a quality product that is worth owning then who gives a load who makes it? I would absolutley consider owning a ford...I just happen to never have had one...

I have had crappy chevys and I have a badass '73 mopar 4x4...who really gives a shit...I mean who hasnt been let down my a vehicle at some point?

I like it but don't got the $$$ to buy one.

Each car company has good vehicles and coming from Ford, I like their F-150s, Mustangs, and Crown Vics.

I would not get the 1st year because you're a beta tester!

Maybe someday I'll have a Raptor sitting in the driveway next to the Tacoma... :D

I think the extra features the raptor has are great, but it is still a fjord. I'm just biased against them. Everyday at work I get customers that need ford parts, mercury parts, everysingle day. Tacomas??? Once for spark plug wires, yesterday for a starter that I tested out and came out good. Thats it in the 6 months i've been at Autozone. I'm sure the Raptor can hold its own, but more that likely, later down the line, a Tacoma will probably still end up Pulling out those f150's, and jeeps:p

Just because someone has a fancy race truck doesn't mean he's a great driver, or even knows how to drive the damn thing, for all I know he sucks.

Sorta off topic and getting personal, but back on topic

My point is Ford put some good shocks and tires on the F150 and called a Raptor - Big fricken whoop.

In that case the extrapolation works and is quite a timesaver. ;)

yea ford does deserve some respect for building a truck that can handle a lot and appeals to off roaders from the plant.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8iJX1wHohY

but i would still rather spend the extra money that the ford costs and mod the tacoma.

Good shocks, extended upper control arms, extended lower control arms, gears, 35" tires, wide fenders, etc. Yes, all things that can be done by a weekend wrench, but that they did it from the factory is impressive.

If you hate Ford, fine, but at least admit that that's the sole reason you don't like the truck. Calling it incapable without providing any hard evidence is a valid argument.

I do agree with you there. But like everyone on here knows we can do that in our garage to a Toyota if we want to and have that "Do-it-yourself warm Fuzzy" :rockband::drunk::rockband:

Sorry to everyone I affended! just sticking up for Toyota a little bit.
