I have to be honest it is far from an average F-150. The color is puke ugly but it has be the nicest looking American truck on the market. At least someone is trying something different...not that I would ever make the leap to a Ford but at least its original. In silver or white without that ridicilous splash paint it would look killer!

Holy fucking christ! It may be a nice truck, capable offroad, blah blah blah, but you need a damn navigator to push all the buttons!

Good god, seriously! How the fuck do you drive it and manage to work the stereo, climate controls, or anything else and keep the truck on course?!

That pic looks like it's as close to the wheel as I would be and I can't even make out 90% of the buttons! I'd be spending more time trying to figure out wtf to push or pushing the wrong one than driving.

The Raptor is a BADASS factory truck. I laugh at the "it's still a Ford" comments. Pure ignorance. My 99 Mustang I traded in for my taco had 165k on it and still ran low 13's mid 12's on spray. I would beat that car stupid and it would run.

In the last six months I have replaced or fixed on the taco:
    1 rear u joint
    1 idle pulley
    fixed my overhead console
replased my 10 amp fuse under the dash 2x
    tail light bulb
    and my wheels are peeling
    my leaf springs squeek
    my glove box rattles

I still like my taco and all will be made right. But it is not as perfect and trouble free as many make them out to be.

Apparently you have never been in some of the comparable American mid-size trucks..Canyon/Colorado GM's finest piece of shit to date. Dakota..WTF that is one ugly truck..the Ranger are you fucking kidding me??? The Tacoma is so far superior to any of them. You can't compare a mustang with a Tacoma they are worlds apart

You could compare a mustang to a supra maybe.

x2. I've always owned Ford trucks and each has been very reliable. I only switched to a Tacoma because our Ranger FX4 was too small since my wife & I had our baby boy. We test drove 2 F-150 crewcab 4x4's, but didn't need that much truck and were to scared gas would go back to $4/gal. I really like my Taco, but I'd be looking at Ford in a heartbeat if they made a good midsize truck comparable to a Tacoma.

Ford needs to either update the Ranger considerably and make it a midsize or actually build an all new midsize platform truck to compete with the above mentioned trucks. I agree, the Tacoma is superior in many ways to any of the above trucks. I believe the poster was referring to general comments that because it was a Ford, it had to be junk-whether it's a Raptor, Mustang, etc.

Yeah I have owned 2 ford SUV's that had well over 100K and one with over 180k so I cant say anything bad about them becase I had zero problems outside of normal maintence on either of them! One is still running strong that I sold to my old room mate. I still love my tacoma more though.

I laugh at the "it's still a Ford" comments too, but that's because I don't and will never buy a Ford. Update on my cousin with the Ford Focus, couple weeks ago he's driving on the highway and the thing just starts pulling to the left hard, he has to fight with the wheel to keep it straight. He takes it in a couple days later. So they say the problem is fixed on his way home the thing starts pulling right, hard ! So now it's parked in the driveway making a mess (brake and oil leaks) and he refuses to drive it to school. He's driving his mom's Camry.

The Nissan is the only other mid-size truck I would consider.

And to think I was considering the Sport Trac, luckily someone moved in the house across from me with one and when I asked him about it he said "never again". The guy drives a Corolla now.

My last truck was a ford. (F150 Super Charged Harley Edition) I liked the truck a lot and it never gave me any problems but I wanted a 4x4 so I sold it. Also it cost me way to much in gas, having to put premium in it. I've had my Tacoma for little over a month now, no complaints. I'm anxious to see how the Raptors will sell.
