    Like, so many.
Seems you run the risk of diluting the brand.

Definitely a double edged sword as they were trying to ride on the coat tails of the big Bronco but they can also end up also losing potential customers that don't pay attention.

I love turbos. With a simple tune you can unlock 100hp in most cases. I've had plenty of turbo cars . Oem and some aftermarket . Hell I like them so much on my latest toy I've got two .

Don’t think it’s just Toyota having issues with inventory . Lots of dealers I see have low volume . Last time I went to the dealer they had 6 Tacoma’s on the lot mostly sr5 .I don’t mind keeps the value stupid high on my off-road .

I bought exactly one week ago. It was honestly quite a headache. Local small dealers knew supply was short, got pretty empty TRDs(No leather, no LED, basically no packages except Blackout) they added as much “dealer adds” as possible one TRD Sport was $42k and it had no packages. Such truck was selling MSRP only and took less than a week to sell.

I reached out to high volume dealers further out. They had the more loaded trucks and more discounts but my god it was frustrating. Trucks arrived and sold so fast they basically didn’t update the website. Could only ask a dealer and hear back when new ones come in. 3 sold while I was just getting more details on the truck options.

One morning I woke up and got a text that 5 Tacoma with options I wanted arrived at their lot. I asked for details, by the time they answered my text, 4 were sold and mine was the only one left. $3300 off MSRP so I just bought it.

Other poster is right about the CarMax stories though. Main reason I decided to get a new Tacoma was because my old car value actually rose compared to previous year. I felt it was a good idea to dump it and get a Tacoma that’ll hold value better.

I have a 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport on order. Been waiting two months. Read an article about supply chain problems impacting auto makers including Toyota. Biggest issue is a lack of computer chips.

Ironically the big dealership near me, self titled themselves as Tacoma Town, has two Tacoma's. And one of them is a 70k sport lol. They called and said if I came in with my 2018 for trade, I would leave very happy.

Been looking for new Tacos in inventory at dealers in the area. Very little available. I have a 2011 Taco now and the average selling price is about 5K less than I paid for it in 2010. Crazy! Local dealer has a refrigerator white SR on the lot and that's it. Thought about selling mine private and ordering the truck I want but could be a looong wait!

Huge lack of inventory here in the south. I saw a 2021 SR at the dealership with no other modifications besides a 2.5" lift for $50k
Based on their current volume, they are expecting it to be sold by the end of the week.

Ford brought that nightmare of brand confusion upon themselves, releasing whatever abomination they're now calling the bronco ii before they even started tooling the assembly line for the bronco.

Dont get me started on the electric mustang thing.

Its like they looked at Cadillac's opposite nightmare of scrapping the names and said "yeah lets not make that mistake. Lets go the opposite route and use the two names that everyone knows, but we're gonna put it on EVERYTHING."

They didn't quite learn the lessons from the Mustang launch or see the extended drip-drip of media-driven frenzy from the Camaro re-launch, or the LFA, or the Viper, or the Hellcat . . . That made the final reveals a big meh in all cases.

I suppose it is not worth mentioning Bugatti also?

But then, say 4th Gen around these parts, or next gen Tundra. LoL! Keeping things tightly lidded has its own problems.

Yeah they dropped the ball for sure, they should fire the group in charge in the naming department. Not really crazy about the Maverick name on the new mini truck either, Ranchero would have made more sense if they chose to recycle old names.

If you're talking about Caddy, the dood came, screwed shit up, and left. GM just can't hit a stride though. The redesign back in the 2000s was controversial, but a lot of folks liked it. They also got the performance right. The quality was horrid though.

In between, they fixed the quality but only hit it with the the ugly stick.

Now, they finally have an appealing design (to me), but GM quality issues and substance is back, baby.

I just bought mine (2021 Tacoma TRD Off Road) in Springfield Missouri from one of the largest Toyota dealers in the state. They had two new Tacoma's in stock. The salesmen told me it has been that way since the 2021's came out.
