I'm not great at describing car noises but it's the best I can do. When my truck reaches 40- 50 mph it makes a Wah Wah Wah Noise. Everyone I've asked says it's just the tires on the pavement. I don't agree. It gets a little louder and changes tempo as you go a little faster but stops at 50 mph or above. I've changed both front wheel bearings and I'm kinda stumped on this. I know some people on here got good ears and I can post a video but I'm not sure if the mic on my phone has picked it up quite good enough but I'll post it anyways. Any help would be very appreciated thanks in advance!

    High odds 'everyone' is right.

Tell us how you've eliminated the tire possibility.

If you have ATs or MTs, it’s probably just the harmonic drone of the tread on the pavement. I get the same waaaaAAAAAaaaa waaaaaaAAAaaaaa drone on the interstate.

If you don't have ATs or MTs, it might be a U-joint or carrier bearing

I'm not familiar with ATs or MTs..is that All Terrains and Mid Terrains? And I just replaced the whole driveshaft also because my carrier bearing was shot. It has brand new all terrain tires and brand new driveshaft. Brand new front wheel bearings and sway bar links. It also has had a front and and back alignment with brand new tires balanced.

Sounds like tires. If new, maybe they are out of balance?

But why does it happen only at 40-50 mph?

I got the tires balanced the same day I bought them.

Unless you have Jimi Hendrix on the stereo, it's probably the tires. Road surface and temperature makes different noises.

This is something I used to believe untrue. Apparently worn shocks can cause some weird tire wear, which in turn can cause weird noises.

Look at the tires. What do you see? Cupping, unevenly worn, feathering ?

Well the tires are too new to see any wear as of right now but I'll keep a check on them. And I've replaced the rear shocks but haven't messed with the front ones.

Well. I looked at the tire. If it’s the Dextro Dat1 all terrain. It’s probably not the tires(since they are new)the pattern on that tire should be relatively quiet at this point. Are you saying before 40mph and after 50mph it does not happen?

Correct. Before 40 mph it's quiet. And after 50 mph it's quiet.

And it’s a pre runner (2WD) right? I had a similar issue with my needle bearing after a lift but I’m 4x4.
