Well at least it increased corn prices and government subsidies so that we now have sugar in our drinks and candies... Kinda like the ~$15,000 tax break for the rich that the GM Volt buyers will enjoy!

    Does Plasti-Dip count as a mod ?
So far, I've had it up tp 75 for a short stretch. Normal commuting is 60/40 2 lane highway / city traffic. Not a lot of stops.

My old Chevy Silverado (4.8) got 17-18 average.

Been putting it through the paces and found if I drive "sanely" and keep the foot out of it, I consistently get 21.xx out of every tank.

    Very surprised....and happy!

I HATE ETHANOL!!! It kills in mileage! When I can find a station that doesnt have that crap in it, I get about 18-19, with that garbage in it I get 16 at best.
I have got 23 in my truck before but that was about 2 yrs ago. :(

I bought a 2010 base 2.4 auto a few weeks back. So far it has been getting 24 on a consistent basis. My commute is 80 miles a day. 90% interstates, with stop n go the rest of the way. Plenty of hilly stuff in I-59/20 and I-65. I think if I held down below 75-80 I could improve from that number. I do reserve punching it for merges, and like let up on the pedal for exits.

I surely must be one of the lucky ones... My 2010 Double Cab TRD Off Road is getting around 20 MPG... and I just completed a road trip around the US putting on almost 9,000 miles... and I got between 20 and 22 MPG on each fill up, including the days I went up and down the mountains in the Rockies!!! I can't complain!

Gas mileage is one of the reasons I like my truck as much as I do. As the miles on the truck increased, so did the MPG. Last summer I hit 35K total miles and averaged 23 to 24 MPG. This winter at 40K total miles I'm averaging 21 MPG.

been very cold, some 4x4, 5-10 warm up idle time, mixed short trips and a few long trips of 30 miles one way on 4 lane highways

please tell me it will get better as my engine breaks in and when warmer weather arrives

well i have an 05 6 speed manual with almost 70k miles on it and i was usually getting about 16 mpg. i drive about 40 miles a day all highway. i usually cruise at about 70-75 when i'm on the freeway but lately i'm just getting 13 mpg. i checked tire pressure and air filter. they look good and i'm really starting to wonder if the spark plugs and cables will make a difference. my truck seems to be running ok otherwise. i'm just wondering why some ppl are getting an average of 20 mpg when i'm nowhere close. oh, i mostly put 91 octane. Any ideas would be greatly appriciated.

If it makes you feel better, my last check was 11.7 WTF? I also have a late model 7 series BMW that gets way better mileage, is heavier and has more balls. Go figure!

Yea I wouldn't mind so much if I had a lift or something but for wheels it sucks. I can only imagine if I did the lift how much more it would drop. That's why I haven't done it yet. For the same millage I could get some other bad ass car. :(

I get right where I should, 20. Some bitter cold, some 4x4, winter blend, 240# sand in the bed for stability. I expect a mile or two better when we are on summer gas.

I expected highway mileage for my around town given how I drive (and last couple of cars worked that way). Light foot and low rpm (2000) make a difference.

If you've never changed plugs or wires I'd say it's about time to get that service done...it may or may not affect the mileage...

I managed to get 271 miles on my last tank before the fuel light went on, it sure seems like my mileage sucks more in the winter.
