So my end goal with my truck is to back half it and link it. I figured why spend the money with the SUA if I'll be tearing it out in a couple of years. With the money I have I'll cage the truck and save more money for the back half.

Hey there @LukeCC definitely has first bite at this, but I might be interested if he backs out. was hoping you could answer some questions though.

I’m wanting to go spring under and very modest long travel but I haven’t gotten to do much research on them yet. I’m really hoping there’s a setup where I can keep my bed intact. Mostly because I do a lot of camping and don’t want to lose my bed space. Would this kit force me to cage my bed? Also I know that load capacity goes down significantly, which could be a hassle during my camping adventures. Any insight? I just don’t want to hate myself for trying to make my truck smoother off-road and mitigate axle wrap. FYI, I am not a desert racer at all, so I might be barking up the complete wrong tree, but I have been struggling with getting a decent ride over 25mph on washboard with my current setup.

    thanks!

I’m not in a position to jump at this very moment so if it works out by all means help out @2004Taco and buy his kit. Thanks for the seniority. Much respect

I can field this question for OP. I Love my F67s. I just bought another set (finally broke the main leaf bottoming out at 85, these things are olddd). People talk $hit on them, and I dont agree. Yes, links are dope, no questions. For a Saturday Soldier these are great. If you are hauling 200 cement bags, these are not the leafs for you. Shock tuning is KEY! You must do this! I'm still doing this and its just getting better.
Very flexible leaf springs. I 4x4 alot of trails with no locker and keep up with double locked rigs, (I finally installed a rear locker, only used it for donuts so far).

If you are not actually racing the vehicle, these are great.

    Glws!

I really appreciate your response, but dang it now I have so many more questions :annoyed:

what are you running for shocks? And do you have recommendations? I recently overheard something about a flutter stack for valving that apparently does great on more washboarded sections. Any experience with that? Also, loaded down for camping I end up with about 300-350lbs of bed weight. I keep most of the heavy stuff like water and coolers forward of the rear axle, but I’m still worried that would be too much.... not to mention pulling a boat sometimes in summer.

so I guess another question is whether I can manage a spring under that can handle a load. My main reason for wanting a spring under is to mitigate the axle wrap and try to make it down those damn washboard road is something over 2nd gear... the added travel is more of an extra benefit. If it helps out at all, I’m running OME with Dakar’s at the moment.

I’m starting to feel like I’m thread jacking right now though, can I shoot you a private message for more info?

    cheers guys

We should put all the info here so someone can make a informed decision.

I'm running Fox 2.5 16" triple bypass shocks. I would only recommend 16" triples from a major brand name. I've had smoothies, doubles and triples. Love the triples. You can make the others work, no doubt, but triples will treat you best.

You can make a simple bed cage to keep most of the bed usable. Look up Kibbietech or Camburg and apply that to your rig. You will need to disassemble the leafs and cycle the suspension to plan things out.

    Flutter is butter! Smooth!
I will catch heat for saying that in some circles! I have a small flutter in my 3 tubes and it's great! I'm not a pro or racing, but it works for me.

Now weight is the factor. I can't say 100%, but the less loads you will carry the better. A trailer may not be your friend. I have no bed (I wish I did) but do have 2 35" spares, high lift and tool box with lots of fire wood and some random parts. The leafs stand a little higher than what I want, but overall work great (not mad at more body clearance when it counts).

The H70 or E30 is the "heavy duty" leaf pack. This will be the pack for trailers or heavy over land rigs.

Weight management is a thing, and the heavy things should be in front of the axle if possible.

Check out the Long Travel section on this forum and research more info.

Did some more reading on rear LT setups and I'm just not ready to pull the trigger on anything. The reduced bed/towing capacity is making me nervous. I think I need to look further into shock upgrades, its starting to seem like I might be overworking the nitrochargers on my current setup. Still dreaming of a spring under, but need to dig more info up on finding my middle-ground for suitability.

GLWS though, still going to be jealous of whoever ends up with this :D:D
