Please update when parts are installed. I am aware of greasing them even though it attracts dirt faster. The dealer has cleaned the springs and bushings multiple times and always comes back in a few days. I would like to take this forum to the dealer. Always been helpful in the past. Cheers

I'll post an update when they get parts and do work to detail what was done and I'll comment on how it worked (or didn't). Small delay right now since they are getting parts from other places since Houston warehouse got flooded.

I just got back from my Toyota dealer, and the service manager has mentioned that this is "bulletined" as a known issue for all 3rd Gen tacomas.

They have ordered the parts and I will also update after the work is complete. The actual kit is apparently called a "suspension spacer kit" which is basically just silencer pads and some other minor hardware, as they have told me. :)

Thanks for the post OP, it gives confidence when you're going into Toyota knowing you're not the only one with the problem.

Just got off the phone with my service rep this morning as well. Said Toyota cant give an ETA for ship date on the spacer kit.

Hoping it comes in some day soon, otherwise its going to be round two lithium grease blasting time. (On a positive note they did say that they would replace them whether it was squeaking or not when i brought it in). Gives me confidence in my local Toyota Dealership (which is nice since Toyota Corporate does the opposite lol). Guess Toyota Care really does exist, at least on the local dealership level!

Picked up my truck in January, drove it off the lot ,no snow or wet roads, next morning took it to the garage and had the underbelly sprayed down ( rust proofing, this is Canada).....7k later and still quiet as ever.....just sayin.......maybe the rustproofing killed 2 birds with one stone.

Well I'm glad to hear you haven't ran into this problem!

And your theory could be possible although I had toyota provide me with the full paint and rust protection package, which included the undercoating. (Northern Ontario :canada:)

Maybe Toyota's coating just didn't have the quality yours did :notsure:

.....I went with " corrosion free rustproofing "....found a local Garage that sprays that product ( not Crappy Tire ..lol) and couldn't be happier....no drips, but thin enough to get in everywhere...was around $100 to do.

Well my truck has been "fixed" by Toyota. I say "fixed" because my squeak is gone but unfortanetly I can't see a single difference in the rear suspension and leaf springs at all other than a little grease.

They claimed to have ordered and install the spacer kit. So I guess time will tell, but I'm uneasy since my parts did not take long to come in...

Do you have an ETA yet?

I don't have any squeaks yet, less than 1k mi., but if Dealer won't fix or fix don't work, try some dirt bike spray chain lube, that stuff gets in tight places, used it on many different things, works great for lube and friction reduction.

My truck has been squeak free since the ‘spacer kit’ has been put on in September of 2017.

I think it’s safe to say this has been rosolved :bananadance:

Just stay out of high pressure automatic car washes. That is where mine started. Either the pressure blew out whatever was there from the factory or it is the car wash soap.

Just back trails/dirt roads in September/October.

Nothing major except in snow since October, I don’t see dirt almost half the year where I live.

No, you can get them done as the current registered owner too.

Old thread, but just developed a minor creak coming from the truck bed. Thanks for sharing, will look into this.
