I have my wireless android auto adapter plugged in so would be nice to be able to wireless charge my phone without having to disconnect that.

    I use this one: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/aawireless#/

When I bought mine (December 2020 with a spring 2021 delivery date) there wasn't anything else on the market for wireless android auto. Lots of wireless Carplay adapters though.

I have android auto on a joying unit sadly I have to be plugged in to use it . But it works great I don't really mind having it plugged in , keeps a good charge . But if I could have wireless Android auto and good wireless charging that would be freaking awesome.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
QI absolutely bites. 2.5 months into our new TRD OR, bought new S21's a few weeks ago. The S21 finds it's spot on the QI with no problem but it gets hotter than shit and receives very little charge after a considerable time. If this new one works, I'd do a swap, otherwise I'll shitcan it and use the switch spot for another add on mod.

I installed it. Works great. Charges with a cover on which the OEM one couldn't. Fit and finish are decent. Don't care too much about the gray wave (i'll bet they start doing these in more colors in the future) design but these seem to help keep the phone in place. Also not sure I like the breathing light. It's long but your phone can't cover it up if it gets cocked to one side. You can cover it up with the phone charging too.
The new charger also renders the switch, to turn it on, useless. I wouldn't mind having it plug into the disconnected harness to make it true PNP (at least for my truck which comes stock with the charger) The one video in this thread pretty much covers the install. I've used it for almost a week and it charges my iphone 11 pro max about 12% in a half hour. Seems to charge a little faster if the phone is more depleted. This might be the setting in the iphone for that 80% threshold. IDK. Gets a little warm but no different than any other 15W charger.

Thank you for the reply! It looks like the ones for sale are black? Did you buy the same brand as the one in the original post or the one in the video?

When you say the qi switch is useless, in what way? Does it not work in yours?

Your OP and the video in post #9 show what I have which has the gray wavy lines in it. Those are what I was referring to. Just nitpicking. If I had to pick I would have gotten dark gray or black so it looks more OEM.

The Qi switch is disconnected. As that video shows, this utilizes a pigtail between the 12V power connector and the truck harness. I guess it is good for guys that use the Qi and want more switch blanks or for the early gen3 without the Qi

Got it, understandable. I was originally under the impression the new ones used the Qi switch now. Thanks

Got mine installed today, I didn't do it but the guy who did said it was really easy and took less than 45 minutes. So far so good on the charging, I have a thick Otterbox case which the OEM charger never worked with it. Worked like a charm with this - simple and easy, as it should be.

I never used mine because it never worked. I have wireless chargers pretty much everywhere (living room, office, bedroom, kitchen and at work). So for me having a wireless charger in my truck was something I was happy to get. Until I actually tried to use the OEM one and it didn't charge through the case and so I never used it and then it bubbled up.

I have it tried it and nothing happened the light was on saying it is charging but 2 hours later the battery on the phone went down from 68% to 64% could not figure out why. I checked my phone was not IQ compatible lol.Oh well it is there till I get a phone that will work with it.

I exclusively use wireless charging stations at work and home but never use my OEM one. I tried early on and it really heated my phone up. Wish I had a deeper storage like 2nd gens and could use the switch space. If this becomes a sought after mod mine might get ripped out soon for a swap.
