My bad. I’m down with big foot and aliens though. I’m not sure how to delete a thread but, what the heck. A few guys on TFL Truck are thinking Toyota is about to come through with the hydrogen or hybrid (I vote hybrid) based engines they have been talking about. I suspect the Pro is about to become more of a Pro in light of the ZR2 and potential Ranger Raptor. I look for more aggressive stock tires and maybe an 8 speed tranny. Toyota needs to step up and they recently said they “welcome” the competition. Once you say that you better be ready to bring it.

Unless they fix the 3rd Gen issues and offer a diesel, who cares? Who the hell wants a hydrogen truck?

It seems that Toyota has been talking about hydrogen for some time now and they have semis that have hydrogen fuel cells. Akio seems to believe that it would be more beneficial to get right to hydrogen fuel cells as opposed to electric, although I think they may be softening on that stance some.

I guess I’m a simple guy because I’d just like a truck with as few issues as possible. Overall mine has been a good truck but the rear diff howling does get on my nerves. As for diesel, it’s likely not happening with Toyota, but I wish it would. They have been saying for about 2 years now they don’t see any new products with diesels in them.

I saw that. I’m going to get mine done in about a month when my 10K service is due. I just hope that resonance is all this is as opposed to having a diff seize at about 50K miles. If it’s just a noise and this makes it go away, I’m happy.

I definitely will. I have to try something because mine is occurring at the speed I drive the most around my home roads. I’m hopeful but also cautiously optimistic. I wonder deep down if the 18s already have this “fix” (because they are not mentioned in the TSB) and Toyota has yet to realize it doesn’t work the way they planned. I hope that is not the case and that this simple solution fixes it. I also have wind noise that just started coming in my driver’s side door like crazy. I checked the seals and don’t see anything obvious (it is bent down a little but it won’t go all the way back up).
