I started but 108 pages is too much! Was considering buying just the shocks and installing myself. But will probably just stick to my plan of 5100s.

Coincidence! Recently my Toyota dealership said they will not perform lift suspensions because of this tech bulletin. Primarily because of liability and the collision control device. However! They will install their lift suspension kits, (as shown on this bulletin) for about 2k. Parts and labor included.

In my case, I have a Toyota 100k extended warranty on my SR5. I was worried about after market products (amp"s),voiding my warranty, plus being liable for amp's in a related accidents. Especially now knowing Toyota's view on this matter. Now I have a new set of Ibach "0-2" front end lift shocks for sale. Share your thoughts!

A good dealership relationship helps when aftermarket vs warranty issue happen. I mean you can't really blame toyota for their response.

I just got a quote for $2826 - the parts are $1377.50 + tax (a discount from the MSRP of $1450) and about $1400 for installation which she said includes 8 hours, recalibration, and realignment.

Is the installation cost reasonable? There's only two Toyota dealerships in my city but several up in Phoenix. Just looking for the best price.

I'm assuming MSRP is $1450 for below estimates...you can subtract that from the estimate price to get labor charges.

    - I bought my truck in Maryland but live in Delaware and the dealership quoted me roughly $2600+tax and shop supplies.
    - Called 2 dealerships here in Delaware...up north in Wilmington it was just over $2400, NO TAX. (I forgot the breakdown)
    - Here in Dover, I was quoted $1450/kit & $720/labor; $2100, NO TAX. None of the techs has done the install; good training! (Yes, they admitted it)

    Man!

If I didn't have these large funded home projects (Remodeled Kitchen thru contractor) + other room improvements, I'd be gradually attending to these serious upgrades.

The wheels & tires can wait until I get at least 50K miles on my Sport. But the TRD lift kit ($2100+) & OEM LED headlights ($1350+) would be the next upgrades in priority order listed. I figured I'd get the more expensive one first so when I plead my case to the wife on the second upgrade, it won't be as expensive. lol!

Thanks to all who provide feedback on this thread.

Yup! Bought rims for $700 including tax. If I decide on lift, then yes, gotta get bigger tires.

MSRP of $1450 is for parts. There’s a part number and it includes the grill, the suspensions, etc. The Toyota dealership I looked at had a small discount on that, which then came to $1378.

Ok. So not terribly far off. But still a chunk of change for sure. I might do it. But I will wait to see if they can even do it on my vehicle because I’m hearing stuff that because it’s a Sport with manual transmission, they can’t do it. Also, I have the panoramic view and so there’s a front camera too.

I know Toyota has, teamed up with some China companies to develop fuel cell technology. That said, there is, and always has been tension between China, and Japan, so it really doesn't make sense for one of the largest automotive manufacturers to do something quite so controversial.

How does it ride on the road? I heard some reviewers say it crashes over bumps and potholes, others say it behaves well on the road with a firm ridem and good road feel, with less body roll. The reason I ask, is because I am getting possession of a new 2022 Tacoma in late February, and I am considering this kit. I live in the midwest, and 85% of my driving is on paved roads, the other 15% is country roads etc.

Me too... Since 1984 I have owned a Toy truck. In 1994 I bought number, bought Tacoma in 2012, and have a new Tacoma being delivered late Feb. Maintenance, batteries, wipers, and 1 water pump. That is why I keep coming back.

I was impressed right away. I thought it actually rode better than stock. Very happy with it. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
