Lift doesn't help, it's the wheel offset that causes rub. Lift has nothing to do with it!

Offset and wheel width right? How much modification will I need for 17x8.5 with -12 offset? I'm fine removing mudflaps and some mild trimming but want to avoid CMC. Otherwise i'd choose another wheel.

Any reason why the dealer would refuse to install just the shocks? I want to hold off on the grill

Some shops flat-out will not install customer-supplied parts. Most shops will, you just have to ask them first (they'll probably tell you they cannot/will not warranty anything part-related, but their standard labor warranty would still apply). Shop-by-shop basis, you gotta ask them directly.

Dumb question, but will I be able to fit 17x8.5 -12 wheels with this lift kit AND the factory mudflaps without destroying anything? I have the wind chill pearl paint and really want to keep the flaps to protect the paint if I can. If it is feasible, what size tire would be the best option

Word of warning: I had a 2019 Sport with the factory mudflaps and I was going to take them off to move over when I traded in for my 2020 OR a couple years later. When I took them off they had already started very noticeably wearing down the paint where they rub against the painted fender flares that the Sports have.

Yep. And -12 offset will still kick some stuff up past the flap. Gotta pick paint or aggressive offset or pay $$$ to ppf

Or you can get some aftermarket ones. I ended up just leaving the factory ones on my 2019 when I traded it in and bought RokBlokz ones instead for my new 2020. They mount up to the factory holes (but don't wrap around the fender flares like the OEM ones do and rub again the paint) and you can kind of adjust them out a bit if you have some offset. If you have a lot of offset, they also sell XL versions which stick out even more I think.

well damn. Wish I knew this beforehand . I purchased these flaps before I got the truck and installed them once it came in. Looks like I’ll never remove them now as I don’t want to see what is underneath

hmmm this isn’t a bad idea. I may have to end up doing this. I’ll need to see if any damage has been done first though from the factory flaps.

It's just a few screws/bolts to take them off and put them back on. Take a look at one or two and if it is too late, just put them back on - super easy.

2 inch lift, Level 8 Mk6 wheels 16x8 with a 275/85r16, Aftermarket fogs with yellow bulbs, AVS bug deflector, Weather Rain guards, secondary air filter delete. PIAA halogen bulbs
Finally getting the shocks in December (Birthday Gift) in talks with a dealer to get a price on labor/ecgs/alignment. I am going to set the front on the first clip at 1 inch and leave the rear stock other than the shocks. Excited but have to wait lol. Not looking for a huge lift just to level the front.

Just got off the phone with my dealer. I have a '23 TRD Sport DCLB on order. He says the TRD lift kit isn't available for this model, confirmed with the regional service people. Oh well, I guess I'll go aftermarket. Meh.

Go Bilstein 5100, cheaper, lifetime warranty, more settings, been used by several with no issues. I use them and going on 20k miles on my truck, never had an issue and I also have the TSS on my truck with the Pro grill.

yep looks like I’m screwed. Guess I’ll kiss those SCS wheels goodbye and join the basic 4Runner TRD 17” wheel train since those are the only things that won’t destroy the flaps. Haha. Guess it saves me money in the long run since I won’t have to pay for a lift either. Win some lose some I guess

I had a similar noise that drove me crazy. I don’t have the lift kit. But found out that it was the chassis bushing had a tear in it. Hopefully you get it taken care of. Things like that can drive you crazy.
