Did a dealer do this? I assume by the picture this is a double cab long bed? I am looking at getting the TRD lift however i can't seem to get a solid answer on a couple of things.

    1) Can the TRD lift be installed on a Double cab long bed and if there is any other modifications that have to be done to make it fit? I see some people doing it and some people are saying they had to do mods to make it work

    2) I assume when doing this should just automatically install the Ecgs bushing i assume there is only the 1 kind of bushing 8" The issue I have is none of the Toyota dealers here or around me like installing lift kits and one dealer which is my own where I bought 4 vehicles flat out said no they wouldn't install any lifts. So I assume I will get all the parts myself and get another shop to install them but want to make sure I have want i need from the get go.

    3) Should I be doing a rear diff shim as well?

Been wanting do to this for awhile but honestly around here there isn't many experiences shops that do lifts there is 1 shop here in Atlantic Canada called Action Auto an aftermarket spot for accessories and lifts ect but, When speaking with them they all say they never heard of installing the ECGS bushing at all and never have any issues with vibrations ect, But everywhere I read majority of people do have slight vibe issues and say to install the bushing. so it just makes me worry they have not installed a whole lot and they mostly deal with installing Rough Country lifts.

    1) I have a LB and it works just fine. Ordered the shocks myself and did an AAL for the rear instead of a block. “Other mods installed?”… well that could be anything but you should be fine.

    2) I would do ECGS at time of install. It’s already apart and is easy at that point. Mine needed it and I had to do afterwards.

    3) That is completely dependent on your trucks angles… you will need to dig further into research on this, but mine did not need anything along with the AAL. Mine didn’t have a factory shim either.

I did this install myself in my garage and it was very easy. A dealer likely won’t do it on a LB so just take it to a shop or do some research and knock it out yourself. Good luck!

I am thinking that do you know what the part numbers were for the shocks and where did you get the AAL from?

They don’t sell just the shocks anymore like they used to from dealers. Might find them on BAM. Although it makes me think what am I supposed to do if I need to replace one…? Lol

AAL is from icon. I did the 3 leaf AAL and think it gave me closer to 1” lift vs the 1.5” advertised… which was fine for me.

Yikes… grab your ankles haha. With some basic tools this can be done in the garage in like 4-5 hours easy FYI.

Huge thanks to this community. Nearly all of my info was listed here on different threads, great info which helped me get all parts and be fully prepared. First time Taco owner, second mod. (First was bigger cup holders). :) Just swapped my grill out this morning.

Up next, rims/tires/leveling kit, to complete the TRD Lift kit without the $3200 cost.

What do you mean, specifically, by "leveling kit" in this context? I'm taking notes because I'm going to want a lift on my TRD Sport.

What would be the best way to gain a little bit more lift with the TRD shocks...top spacer or lift coils?

Sorry. I did use different wording. what I was referring to was the 2” front 1” rear that is done with the TRD Lift kit.

I’ll be doing Bilstien 5100 all the way around with either a 1” block in the rear or 1.5 inch AAL (haven’t quite decided).

It’s basically the same thing that comes with the TRD lift.
From my research, I’ll be able to fit 275/70/17 tires with 0 offset rims, which shouldn’t have any sort of rubbing or trimming needed.

I'm thinking maybe PT82A-35210 or equivalent for the block with the 90117-14011 or equivalent U-bolts as a stopgap until I can get some Deavers or something equally ridiculous after I see how the truck sits with the weight I want to add--sport bar, roof rack, accessories. Mine is an AC, so the sport bar, etc. will be a little bit further forward on the frame. No plans to add hundreds of pounds of gear in the back in a bed box or anything like that.
Can't wait to see that. I've read repeatedly that wheel fitment is pretty much unaffected by any lift under 3", with offset and width being what matters. I have FSW knock-offs of TRD Pros in 17"x8.5" in 0 offset, but have been lamenting having to get 265/70s to avoid rubbing. Been shopping around in my area for someone to do a CMC so I can get 285s on.

Apparently, the lift kit PTR13-35210 is no longer available. So these shocks have to be purchased separately and the cheapest place I found was $463 delivered. I may go with 5100's since I can get them for $440.
